Q:
Zephyrites and War
A:
Pacifist yes, but completely able to defend themselves. In the crystal race event they actually do fight the inquest IIRC, in dry-top.
Of course they’d defend themselves, but likely wouldn’t go and attack somebody. As for how, using the aspects. Like the ASpect arena showed, the sun, lightning and air can be used offensivesly, and depending on terrain, with great effect.
Thanks a ton, Kalavier! =)
Yep. You can actually observe the Zephyrites in combat action in Dry Top.
1. During the Dust Mite event at the crash site, Lucent and Aura use the Aspect Arena crystal skills to fight. (Lucent uses Sun, Aura uses Wind.)
2. During the Basket event, the Zephyrite there uses the Lightning skills to fight the Inquest.
3. Up the top, Serene’s event also has her using the Lightning crystal skills.
It is also pointed out by Marjory and the Player that the Zephyrites do defend themselves. As the player states, no culture survives long without learning to defend itself.
Marjory: The Zephyrites always seemed so gentle to me, but these died fighting. There are defensive wounds on their hands and arms, as if they were shielding themselves from their attacker.
Player: No culture survives long without learning to defend itself.
So think of them like kung-f-u monks, able to but not inclined to use violence (yes I did just massively stereotype).
Although I do have some doubts about how effectively they can utilize aspects for war or combat thought, I don’t think they practiced shoot fireballs all that often or even master the aspects to be used offensively.
Flinging somebody off a cliff with a burst of wind or zapping some lightning into a pool of water is an example of terrain based effectiveness :P.
This is all really great. Not only did it answer my question, but it gave me a bunch of ideas. Really awesome, guys!
The Sanctum had ballistas mounted on it.
