Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Isn’t there also a shard in Orr? The one you find at the end of path 4? Or are those just little bits left over from when the gods shattered it?
I found this as well a while ago. Here’s the topic so you can check out the replies I got.

Yip those are shards, very likely from the shattering.
and thanks for pointing out that post master Ted. Though a lot of speculation goes on, it is nice to see the ‘structure’ exist elsewhere in the game.
I realised as Konig pointed out on guru that it is facing the wrong direction for being the door from gw1 itself. besides that it doesn’t make sense. the gw1 door was in the surface of the rock and this structure is in a cave. I know Tyria has changed a lot, but rock growing that fast in 250 years?? more likely that rock dissapeared due to the rise of orr and the flooding, So I suspect this part of the structure is inside the dungeon (or between the starting point of the dungeon and the entrance, the part you go through automaticly.
Anyways, this post is bout all info regarding the bloodstones so please go on discussing
this part but also the rest
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
You’re very welcome! I’m quite interested in all of this myself. Sadly, we don’t have a whole lot of information on this… Yet.
Let’s hope there’s going to be some explaining in future expansions!
I’m assuming we’ll be able to at least visit the bloodstones in the Maguuma Jungle when we gain access to the area.
I imagine they locked down the cave to keep people from messing with the bloodstones since they were so steeped in power. I think you’re right when you say that “door” looks more like a lock or seal. I just went there myself and tried to see through the wall behind it but it’s not cooperating, not that I actually expected to find anything, but you never know ;-) I too would like to see them make a return and I was just discussing it with some people yesterday.
~Surrender fiend and you will get an easy death
~I could promise you the same…but it would be a lie…
It would be awesome if they would eventually make it a possibility to see the bloodstones and learn more of their history/what’s happened to them in the past 250 years. We do know that the bloodstone that was in the Bloodstone Fen dungeon was the same one that the Mursaat were going to take the chosen to in the Iron Mines of Muladune mission, so the bloodstone itself must be placed somewhere between Iron Mines and the dungeon entrance, that also means that there is a second way down there Well just thinking I guess there are 2 or 3 ways down. Because I specifically remember that the bloodstone has a hole above it to the sky, that is when I was visiting it I looked up. So even with the cave sealed, someone had to take other precautions, like perhaps building something on top of it. I’m getting all kinds of Indiana Jones vibes from trying to find this bloodstone, lol.

One minor correction: Bloodstone Fen is the one in the Maguuma Jungle. Bloodstone Caves is the one in Sparkfly Swamp.
