Hiya all,

Srry if this has been dicussed in the past, but I thought it would be nice to compare our thoughts and info bout the bloodstones in gw2.

To start with the only ‘official’ piece of information I could find is here: http://www.guildmag.com/gmblitz-lore-interview-with-jeff-grubb
’GuildMag: In the original Guild Wars we’ve already seen three of the five bloodstones, will we be able to find the other two and could you tell us some more about them?

Jeff Grubb: We are not revealing what has become of the Bloodstones yet, but they may have an influence in future expansions.’

I’m going to make two assumptions here
a: the stones still exist in gw2-tyria
b: they haven’t changed location.

From the five peices we know the location then of three. Two of them are currently out of reach (one on the fireislands and one in what now is the maguuma wastes).

The third however is accesible for everyone and comparing maps I would say the entrance to the caves once was in either top right corner of straights of devastation or bottom right corner of sparkfly fen. So I went to look for clues. There was a structure in bramble pass that I couldn’t find my way into before, but now I could and all the way in the back I found the attached screenshot.

The structure looks like of asuran origin (wich makes sense, cause in gw2 it was found by an asuran in the first place). And some elements remind me of a rudimentary asura gate. But what if it is actually a lock??

So far what I’ve found in my investigations. If you have different things or want to comment on (how wrong) my investigations are, pls lemme know.

I do hope we are going to see more of the bloodstones in the future.

Isn’t there also a shard in Orr? The one you find at the end of path 4? Or are those just little bits left over from when the gods shattered it?

I found this as well a while ago. Here’s the topic so you can check out the replies I got.

Yip those are shards, very likely from the shattering.

and thanks for pointing out that post master Ted. Though a lot of speculation goes on, it is nice to see the ‘structure’ exist elsewhere in the game.

I realised as Konig pointed out on guru that it is facing the wrong direction for being the door from gw1 itself. besides that it doesn’t make sense. the gw1 door was in the surface of the rock and this structure is in a cave. I know Tyria has changed a lot, but rock growing that fast in 250 years?? more likely that rock dissapeared due to the rise of orr and the flooding, So I suspect this part of the structure is inside the dungeon (or between the starting point of the dungeon and the entrance, the part you go through automaticly.

Anyways, this post is bout all info regarding the bloodstones so please go on discussing
this part but also the rest

You’re very welcome! I’m quite interested in all of this myself. Sadly, we don’t have a whole lot of information on this… Yet.
Let’s hope there’s going to be some explaining in future expansions!
I’m assuming we’ll be able to at least visit the bloodstones in the Maguuma Jungle when we gain access to the area.

I imagine they locked down the cave to keep people from messing with the bloodstones since they were so steeped in power. I think you’re right when you say that “door” looks more like a lock or seal. I just went there myself and tried to see through the wall behind it but it’s not cooperating, not that I actually expected to find anything, but you never know ;-) I too would like to see them make a return and I was just discussing it with some people yesterday.

It would be awesome if they would eventually make it a possibility to see the bloodstones and learn more of their history/what’s happened to them in the past 250 years. We do know that the bloodstone that was in the Bloodstone Fen dungeon was the same one that the Mursaat were going to take the chosen to in the Iron Mines of Muladune mission, so the bloodstone itself must be placed somewhere between Iron Mines and the dungeon entrance, that also means that there is a second way down there Well just thinking I guess there are 2 or 3 ways down. Because I specifically remember that the bloodstone has a hole above it to the sky, that is when I was visiting it I looked up. So even with the cave sealed, someone had to take other precautions, like perhaps building something on top of it. I’m getting all kinds of Indiana Jones vibes from trying to find this bloodstone, lol.

One minor correction: Bloodstone Fen is the one in the Maguuma Jungle. Bloodstone Caves is the one in Sparkfly Swamp.
