alternate universe and snaff
Just entertaining the thought, what would this accomplish?
Snaff temporarily attuned to Kralkatorrik’s mind before dying, but… that was the one Snaff that died; so if you bring an alternate Snaff, he may not have that experience, may not even be the intellectual he was in our Tyria.
Furthermore, this would bring Zojja into relevance again, but that’s expensive voice work. Besides, the game is shifting towards the soon-to-be renamed Destiny’s Edge 2.0, so Zojja, Logan and Rytlock may lose the focus. Snaff may not contribute at all.
I’m not seeing the need for the plot to move in that direction…
Why does everyone focus on voice actors being expensive? Unless ANet says that is the reason they kill off players then its not true. There were plenty of reasons to move on past Destiny’s Edge and focus on DE2.0, and killing Eir was a crucial step in that direction. It wasn’t purely because of voice actors costing money.
It’s less voice actors being expensive and more them being available (particularly Felicia Day was mentioned as unavailable a lot for Season 1 content, and that’s why Zojja never showed up).
As for the OP’s question: that particular storyline wasn’t to an alternate universe per se but a future possibility – in other words, they came from something closer to the Fractals of the Mists than another world entirely.
That said, WvW is said to be happening between alternate Tyrias, so alternate dimensions do exist. But these three(+) worlds all have the same major events happening – which would include Snaff’s death.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Anet sacrifices players to pay the voice actors?! Are they all Mursaat???

Meh, we already have the mists.
He might vome back as a fractal, but I don’t see much more of him apearing.
Maybe if they go with the flashbacks again, like with Caithe, but for Zoija. Some recordings left in her Golem, which depicts something valuable for an Asura storyline, or so.
Yeah no need for the plot to move in that direction.Though like Jaken has stated, maybe we can have him come back as a fractal.Or listen to some recordings left in golems.I really wonder what he would’ve looked like in game though.
For what he looks like:

Which I believe is fully replicatable except for the modified T3 asura cultural light coat.

One thing I’ve been wondering is whether Snaff might not have ‘moved on’, but is actually still present in Kralkatorrik’s mind. Losing his own body as an anchor might have caused him to lose control… or it’s possible that Snaff realised that with his physical body dead, Kralkatorrik’s death would mean Snaff’s death as well, and he baulked enough to let Kralkatorrik escape.
Kralkatorrik has, after all, been fairly quiet since Edge of Destiny – it’s possible that a contributing factor to that is that Snaff and Kralkatorrik are still wrestling in Kralkatorrik’s mind.
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

Heh, well… I guess he could totally appear in a fractal, and if you’re writing a fan-fic, you have free reign over resurrecting dead characters from the past, since ANet has already shown that the Mists is capable of throwing out random stuff like that.
Plot wise, dead characters should probably stay dead. Otherwise the whole drama of character deaths would be cheapened.
Trahearne resurrection, anyone? XD
Trahearne – and all other sylvari – actually has a legit way of being brought back, thanks to ArenaNet’s creation of the “nigh immortal mordrem commanders” which would be reborn from any Blighting Tree (as Diamir is reborn from three different trees while the other two are from two).
It just becomes a question of if the Pale Tree could replicate this ability, and would do so (not doing so before could be excused as trying to seem less dragon champion-like).
