I haven’t really delved deep into the asura lore but every time I see asura jargon I cringe a little because of how forced and tryhard it sounds. what the hell is an “esopolitical parascientologist” for starters?

Eso-: inner.
Political: of, pertaining to, or concerned with politics

Para-: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/para-?s=t
scientologist: a nutty religious movement (unlikely), or someone who undertakes the scientific study of science.

Put it all together and it looks like you have someone who specializes in the impact of politics on science. Most asuran “technobabble” is like that. It takes a lot of work to put together, and the meaning is very rarely clear, but it is not simply meaningless.

ty bro, I saw scientologist and went “pls go”. do you know anything about the consistency though? you hear about instability in fractals for example and it usually means “mobs”. how does that work(that’s most of what I can relate to since I play/played fractals mostly xd)? can you actually piece “asura science” together?

It can be pieced together. they mention throughout the game an area of study called meta-mystics. Which means study of mystics. This all makes sense considering their magitech culture.

Instability usually refers to the wall between the something (be it alternate realities, time, distance, etc) being broken down. Otherwise known as a portal. So that’s how it equates to mobs.

Terms like “esopolitical parascientologist” aren’t just random pieces thrown together. They are using scientific naming methods that do coincide with the npc’s and their areas of study in the game.

Nothing quite tops “boo-boo-matic wheeze calculator” though.
