1) Prophecies.

2) Northern Maguuma Jungle and Shiverpeak Mountains. The land was taken nearly 700 years prior to the game, however, when Elonians (re)colonized Kryta and spread further north.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

The story behind the Centaur War in GW2 is that just recently a large portion of the centaurs have been united (forcibly) under the Modniir tribe (you’ll remember fighting them in the shiverpeak mountains). With this new power the Modniir decided to go out in full force against the humans, re-igniting the old war.

Also don’t mention Thorn around them, that may make them even angrier… in fact never mention Thorn to anyone in Kryta. *

I don’t EVER remember seeing them in GW1 except for the one hero you could get to join your party in NF. Aside fom that I don’t ever rememeber hearing about them…..why now?

Um, well there were loads of them in the Shiverpeaks. There were quite a few in the Maguuma Jungle, and we do not know if there were any in the areas north of Kryta that we now see them in because we never went up there. There was plenty of Centaurs around back then, heck in the Bloodstone Fen mission, I believe, you destroyed the leaders of a group that were combining forces to attack the humans.

I honestly am not sure what you’re asking or talking about. I liked GW1 graphics but thats just me. “Char.” I assume is a typo and you meant “Charr” and that was not a world war. It affected ascalon as far as your character was concerned and not much more. It was also 4 missions out of 25 which is less than 1/6 of the game. The in game missions never really focused on the centaurs as much as the humans or charr so even though they are in missions they are ignored.

There are plenty of centaur in GW1 they are in the maguuma jungle, the shiverpeaks, and in elona so while the humans were brutish jerks the centaurs were always around and still had land. Just were often slaughtered and enslaved without second thought.

Add more sound effects to The Minstrel plz.

Not to mention “the one hero you could get to join your party” (Zhed) came with a whole plotline about how the centaurs were treated in Elona, what they believed, etc. PLUS there was Ventari, who was in Prophecies right from the beginning (along with the various centaur enemies and NPCs that BuddhaKeks mentions).
