chaos isles question
I genuinely thought it was Dessa but just a different fractal form of her at the beginning….now, I’m not so sure. I haven’t really had a proper explore of the fractal yet, so I can’t really say.
I could be wrong, but to me the Mysterious Asura sounds male rather than female.
Last night, a guildee theorized it might be the raving asura from the uncategorized fractal. I know that doesn’t help in identifying him (it does sound like a he to me as well), but I thought it was interesting.
The raving asura yells something about being abandoned after the last fight in the uncategorized instance – could be some lost researcher trapped in chaos.
It definitely sounds like a he, but the two look nothing alike. Compare OP’s image to the wiki’s image of the Raving Asura
Looks like this might be a brand new figure.
I’m more interested in this figure’s plan. The journals talk about destabilizing the fractals. What would that accomplish?

Well judging by the current theme, I’m still wondering if he’s one of the Rata Novuns that went nutso at some point trying to create a portal to get out of dodge before the Chak invaded.
Other than that I’m not sure who else he could be, other than some Inquest or something. Perhaps the leader of the Inquest? But that wouldn’t make much sense either given that he is alone.
I think it is Dessa. Or I should say I think it is the real Asura running the real mistlock observatory. My gut says that mistlock observatory, and dessa, are a fractal based on one of an infinite number of probabilities the mists draw upon to establish an anchor for the real observatory’s existence within the mists. Okay, hope that makes sense.

In an increditble twist of events the mysterious asura turns out to be…drum rolls…Zinn!!!!!1!!!11!!!
No really, regardless of who it is, I can also only wonder what would it accomplish to destabilize fractals (as a stable one, according to Dessa, is much more research-friendly).
