is Zephyrites gone and never to return??
Assuming Glint’s offspring Gleam is alive, I suspect the story is leading up to the Zephyrites serving him/her and rebuilding their lives around that. Alternatively they could protect and raise the dragon that hatches from the egg Caithe stole.
Honestly, the Zephyrites probably lost more when Glint died than they lost when Aerin destroyed their ship and the Master of Peace and Sun both died. If they can go on without Glint, they can live through the current events.
Glint’s body is still protected by the Zephyrites. Until it is empty of magic, I’m sure they’d continue to work for that.
Then there’s Gleam. And any other possible still-living children of Glint (according to Aaron, there’s 21 eggs seen in GW1 – we know the fate of two; that’s 19 unaccounted eggs).
I’m still “surprised” they offed the Master of Peace and Master of Sun. Not because I didn’t expect it – in that sense, I’m surprised the Masters of Wind and Lightning survived – but because the Master of Sun was wearing heavy armor but got one-shotted by the boss, while the medium and light armor guys stood their own, and the Master of Peace should be the top dog of the Zephyrites, and it felt like his role was building up to be very important until the promo pic for E6.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
It could be an opportunity to raise another NPC to one of these rank, a way to get rid of someone they don’t know what to do with…. which could be nice for us to see.
If you mean them making a non-Zephyrite the new masters, I both highly doubt it and believe it would make no sense whatsoever logically.

Ya, I was really shocked that Master of Sun died just like that. :O
I mean, geeellooo?? In this game you are able to dodge and you’re wearing Heavy armor!
So sad to see her die that easily.. I liked her most from the Masters.
R.I.P. Master of Sun.... oh and of course Master of Peace.

I do hope we’ll get to know more about the Zephyrites how they’ll manage to survive this, after all..
Master of Sun should stop being so zerker and get some Toughness/Vit gear, obviously.
I think that the Zephyrites will survive, although they will not return to their level of prominence or self-sufficiency for many years. One of the existing Masters (probably Lightning) will be promoted to the new Master of Peace, and then the missing roles will get filled by promotions from below.
I will be sad if this means we don’t see the return of the Bazaar for some time though. I loved that map.
One thing to note is that the Zephyrites had multiple ships, and it seems unlikely that Aerin got them all (they knew he was troubled before he went completely over the edge). So a couple of them got brought down, but the majority of the fleet probably remained intact.
What I suspect happened is that the other three Masters were on other ships, and disembarked to look after Zephyrite interests here while the rest of the fleet proceeded to its destination.
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
There were about 11 ships in Labyrinthine Cliffs. Three or four ships were seen struck down. Aerin only bombed the largest, Zephyr Sanctum, but it knocked into two/three others, at least.
