its all Abbadons fault. (tinfoil hat)
Don’t be too quick on conclusions^^
Only things we know are the events from GW1
And the rest is extrapolation without any evidence.
Now, if certain people chose Evon at that time, we might had some clues about why Abaddon was exiled, why his distribution of magic wasn’t on term with the other 5 views, why Abaddon and his followers were systematically exiled in the Realm of Torment, etc…
I still have that whole “choose your fractal” event through my throat…
It’s not yet clear that the Searing was tied to Kralkatorrik, however even if it was there’s an important fact to note about it:
Researcher Fero: Well, braid my ears! Those ancient Flame Legion poobahs may’ve been evil, oppressive oiks, but they knew how to enchant a weapon.

The Flame Legion might have been given the cauldrons, but they enchanted them. Supposedly.
As for Zhaitan’s interest in the temple of Abaddon – he and his generals had interest in EVERY temple in Orr. Not just Abaddon’s.
Abaddon’s statue in the Priory is because he’s the god of knowledge (though called god of secrets after his fall). Priory is all about lost knowledge, and he is lost knowledge.
They didn’t say Abaddon’s fractal would be tied to “this whole thing”. They only said that Evon’s interests might not have been entirely unreligious – hinting that Evon is a secret worshiper of Abaddon.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I think that it’s fairly clear that the Searing is tied to Kralkatorrik, because they say in game that the cauldron and the Searing magic is older than the titans. So I do believe that Abaddon’s fractal would be related to Kralkatorrik because they even said that the living story would have taken a different path, one that would likely lead to that side of the map because of the current connection and Evon being a charr. However, I doubt that Abaddon was planning on the rise of the dragons, but rather thinking about how to escape from his own prison.
Being older than the titans doesn’t mean much, given we don’t know how old the titans are (best placement is “as old as the Forgotten”), and doesn’t necessarily link the magic to the Elder Dragons either – given that the titans originate from the Mists, it’s more likely that any magic that would be granted by them (or Abaddon) would be more closely related to other beings from the Mists – e.g., the Forgotten, demons, or Six Gods – than the Elder Dragons.
Unless, again, the titans didn’t give empowered cauldrons, just cauldrons which could be empowered.
And AFAIK, the only change mentioned for Evon winning would be that LA would be more defended because Evon would have put more pressure than Kiel did, but still ultimately destroyed by Scarlet (just fewer casualties).
EDIT: Note, that I am not saying that the Searing is unlikely to have been powered by Kralkatorrik – I think it’s highly likely, especially how ever since GW2 became a thing every single little matter somehow involves dragons and dragon minions now – but rather that it isn’t certain without doubt.

I’m not sure that one line is an entirely reliable source – Fero might be assuming that the Flame Legion shamans enchanted them themselves when that may not actually be the case. Unreliable narrator, after all…
The line from The Ecology of the Charr is “It is said the Cauldron’s magic was older than the Charr, older even than recorded history, and forged by ancient entities fallen into sleep and quiescence.” The crystalline appearance of the crystals, along with Kralkatorrik’s presence in charr territory, suggests that Kralkatorrik’s power may have been involved… but we don’t really know that.
Since the Ecology only speaks of one Cauldron of Cataclysm and we now know that there were many Searing Cauldrons, what I suspect is that the original was ancient, but the shamans learned to make copies of it (possibly less powerful copies, but copies nonetheless).
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
during the election devs said that if kiel won we get the reactor fractal and if evon won we get the fall of abbadon fractal. but to our surprise scarlet has something to do with the reactor exploding… now if evon won and we get the fall of abbadon fractal do we find a connection to the living story season 1? maybe? i guess we will never know anymore.
