predictions for this season
With all the different directions s1 of the LS went, it’s a bit hard to get any totally accurate predictions for s2.
What I’m personally hoping for is some dragon minions interacting with one another. Given part of the recent lore interview discussing how the Elder Dragons are apex predators, and they are fine as long as they don’t really encounter one another, Mordy pulled a big no-no by possible crossing into both Jormag’s and Kralk’s territory.
It would be nice seeing some dragon minions trying to ripe each other apart. Or better yet, two dragon champions trying to kill one another.
I think it would be awesome to have the occasional Claw of Jormag event interrupted by an equally-large Mordrem champion that we then have to fight…

2. In the Cavern of the Shining Light you can find this: Notebook. I believe this tells us that Mord is coming after the ghosts living in Ascalon. I further believe that the reason we see Rytlock trying to get rid of the ghosts is exactly this, to prevent Mord from consuming them. Also, I do not believe Rytlock will actually succeed in getting rid of the ghosts.
After the teaser, that notebook was my first thought. Particularly, the part about them being grounded and possibly being used as a surge. The ghosts in Ascalon already seem grounded there. Removing a feast could be all there is to it but using all that magic in a surge as, perhaps, a weapon or tool?
One grueling problem I have with this idea of it going after specific targets such as the Crystal Caverns and Infinity Coil is Concordia. We’re being told that at the time of the attack the Krytan royal locket was in safe keeping. The same group who was keeping the locket safe happened to be ambushed by Mordrem.

Ah yes, I wanted to adress that but I forgot. Here’s what I think happened: Mord was not after that specific locket. Instead he, like Zhaitan, is after powerful magical artifacts. Both Concordia and Fort Salma are on the ley lines through which Mord spreads. Thus I believe the only reason he attacked Concordia and Salma was that 1) at that moment there were artifacts there and 2) they stand above/near the ley lines through which he spreads.
My theory is that the vines Mord uses (and which are confirmed to be part of him) function similar to Zhaitan’s Mouths. I remember a npc (probably Taimi) also confirming or speculating this. Possibly the Trashers are Mord’s eyes but I have no real evidence aside from 1) the trasher that plays an important role in Trouble at Fort Salma which seems to be a leader of sorts and 2) they have this one eye.
