Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Logan was supposed to guard Snaff.
He didn’t.
The Branded broke through and killed Snaff.
In the books, Jennah basically makes him her slave, so if she summons him, he has to protect her. And she was in Ebonhawke or something when Kralk was waking, so the Ogres (or charr, can’t remember) were attacking, and he went to protect her instead.
Jennah is an extremely powerful mesmer. So either her hold over Logan is quite strong, or he’s just a moron, and is willing to get others killed just to protect her.
Logan made an idiotic move, but it was his choice to make.
Snaff died because of it.
Jennah didn’t make him her slave, he’s really that girl-crazy and idiotic that’s all.
Though I do recommend getting the book. It was an entertaining read, especially since I finished it and did the story dungeons shortly after.
Jennah didn’t turn Logan into her slave – this has been stated by a dev that their love is genuine. All Jennah did was create a mental connection between the two so that she could call on him if she was ever in trouble.
She got in trouble as the Branded were storming Ebonhawke when they were utterly unprepared for a dragon assault. Jennah and Anise themselves were even fatigued from trying to look into Kralkatorrik’s mind and failing.
Jennah called upon Logan – not knowing that Logan and Destiny’s Edge were preparing to face down an Elder Dragon – and he saved her.
People often say that Logan made the “wrong choice” – but honestly, is there a right choice?
Save the queen, Snaff dies and Kralkatorrik lives. Stay to protect Snaff, Jennah dies, the Ministry (aka Caudecus) takes over Kryta with possible civil war between Jennah supporters vs. Caudecus supporters going at it; the last human nation in Tyria either falls or goes “lol wut dragons, we won’t help you” (which is exactly what Caudecus’ stance on the ED are – “they’re not treats to us, we shouldn’t do anything about them.”).
Also keep in mind that Logan didn’t know what kind of danger Jennah was in, nor did he know that Snaff would die – let alone for the group to continue their fight against Kralkatorrik without him. He’s no fortune teller. All he knew at the time was that they were preparing to face an Elder Dragon, and the love of his life was in danger.
The book fails in showing this properly, thanks mainly to Logan not making much of a difference in the fight somehow, and Jennah pulling a dues ex illusion after recovering (time given to her by… Logan!). But the book fails to portray a lot of things properly.

Not to mention Logan’s personal loss should Jennah die, Konig :P
Wasn’t Eir at fault? Logan left before the fight right? Eir decided to go ahead with the battle plan without Logan and Snaff died.
I’m most likely getting my information completely wrong so if someone can correct me I’d appreciate it.
Yes eir was partially at fault(reason zoija is so hostile to her) but that was their best opportunity and they didn’t know if they’d have another soon to possibly kill kralk
I’m pretty sure it happened right before the fight, yes, when Logan went to Jennah. Eir made the decision to fight anyway, believing they could win and that was their best shot at Kralky.
While it was Eir’s decision to stay and fight a member short, people still lie the blame on Logan. Myself included. For me, it’s less about whose fault it was that the attack against Kralkatorrik failed and more about the idea of abandoning your friends when they counted and depended on you. But as Konig said, there was no right answer for Logan.
At least before the conclusion of dungeon story modes, Zojja holds Eir accountable for Snaff’s death (rather vehemently) and Rytlock has some severe problems with Logan, viewing Logan’s departure as a rather big betrayal (or so that’s the vibe I get from Rytlock’s lines in cinematics).

@dunnberry exactly. Eir figured they still had a shot (and they did, they came very very close). Look at the staggering loss of life inflicted by the risen, or the icebrood. Eir was given a chance to prevent such destruction from happening yet again, and she took it. All things in balance, that would’ve been a worthy choice even if the entire guild died for it.
As for Rytlock, he kind of unofficially adopted Logan as a member of his warband, and then Logan abandoned him, and they lost a friend for nothing due in part to that. From the charr point of mind, that makes Logan a gladium of sorts, and one who abandoned Rytlock personally at that.

While i do not like Logan overly much i do not think he can be blamed for it. Go to save the one you love or fight alongside your friends…what would you chose? Logan could not know that Snaff would die. If he had stayed to fight alongside his friends he would have regretted it forever with no chance for redemption, as Jennah would most likely have died. Love over friendship, is he to blame for it? I do not think so.
Save Kryta or kill an Elder dragon – from a human point of view and when seen as part of the bigger picture he did the right thing, as there will most likely be another chance to kill Kralkatorrik, who is arguably a lesser threat than Zhaitan or Jormag at the moment.
Well it wasn’t all of Kryta in danger it was just ebonhawke which beside the mine and being next to the crystal desert I see of little value or importance other than just having a city and human pride…they weren’t just friends your guild is supposed to be the closest people you trust everything with and he broke that for a women he we are unsure if he is actually with or not…also we are unsure if Jennah would have died, she could have recovered or fled more and than used OP Mesmer powers to own everything and than Logan defending snaff would have given them a better chance at kralk, who knows if try would have succeeded but I see with Logan their a very high chance of snaff still bein alive which would be huge!
Assuming Jennah could have escaped, that means they would have lost Ebonhawke, and the Ministry would probably use that as an excuse to start a rebellion against Jennah’s rule, saying she’s weak and can’t even keep control of the Ascalonian city and blah blah
Also @Konig, I know he’s not her slave, i said “basically”, didn’t remember the exact way that she mesmerized him

Should Jennah have died Kryta would most likely have fallen into turmoil as she currently has no heir. The consequences could have been far greater than what happened by not killing Kralkatorrik, even to the extent of the last human kingdom on the continent of Tyria breaking apart, no peace treaty with the Charr, no human support for the Pact etc. Sure, we can’t tell if Jennah would have died, but there was the possibility for that. And love is stronger than friendship, usually.
