that place really looks like an old abandoned dwarfen outpost/castle however you want to name it , is there any story behind that place or did it exist in gw1 somewhere?

Yup it used to be a stone summit (evil dwarves) mine, where the dredge where forced into slavery. Look up: Sorrow’s Furnace on the gw wiki for more info.

It existed in GW1 – it was formerly a place called Sorrow’s Furnace. It was the largest mine of the Stone Summit Dwarves (evil Dwarf faction, basically). The dredge within were slaves to the Dwarves. Within it, at it’s heart, was the Iron Forgeman – a new version we can see in the story mode of Sorrow’s Embrace.
