I don’t know what do you guys think about this.
I do feel GW1 story is a lot better, “Betrayal, lies, justice, legends, choice, responsibility” let me feel like a hero, let me surprised.
When I found the White Mantle is a lier, I feel betrayal and lies!
When we beat Abaddon, Shiro, I did feel like a hero, I believe that the justice will eventually conquer the evil!
When I sounded the Stormcallers horn, when I beat my shadow and draw gods attention, I did feel legends matters!
When I chose to support Luxon and fight with Kurzick who wants to steal out turtle eggs, I did feel choice matters!
When Ascalon princess dead in the Frost Gate, kneel down in front of the Stone Summit; when all of the Deldrimor become stone for saving the world from the destroyer, I do feel responsibility is important!

But GW2… Why Dragon Matters?

Except that Anet said Living Story is end game.

If you didn’t feel like a hero during the personal story when we took back Claw Island, OP, I don’t know what to say.

The dragons matter because it’s easier to retcon gw1 lore for being “too human-centric” than sitting down and coming up with stuff that makes the other races unique/special/significant/powerful/bad kitten in their own way.

I’ve been harking on the story for GW2 since it’s debute on PC Magazine back when they were announcing EoTN because it did sound like the whole Dragons was shoehorned in. Now we are dealing with a lot of questionable changes in Living Stories that kind of spit in the face of old lore which I’m not particularly a fan of. However, the biggest issue I’ve had with GW2’s story is how much it differed, in style, from the original. As cartoony as GW1 was, I liked the cutscenes so watching GW2 was like looking at a downgrade. That and of course it felt like our choices didn’t matter, especially after the Risen are introduced and you’ve picked a Pact force to join.

well, the thing is I know there is a dragon from the beginning, whatever happens in the way to kill the dragon, it just gonna die. You can see the end even when you start playing. That’s what i mean, I want a story I don’t know whats gonna happen next.
