so i was cleaning up today and found an old magazine about the time of eye of the north with a lore article that the other legions mocked the flame legion calling them the gold legion…. is that anywhere in the game or was that dropped, also if so anyone know why?

It’s not in the game as far as I know (maybe a passing reference somewhere), but it is part of the lore.

I think I’ve seen it maybe once or twice in the Black Citadel, but yeah, it seems like it was an idea that got shelved very shortly into the writing.

gold is weak, so being mocked that way is rather apropriate

Otherwise I don`t know. Maybe they retired the name over time.

A couple of things changed between the PC Gamer (or PC Games in my country) article and release. Another thing would be renaming the Iron Citadel to Black Citadel or a more obvious example would be the Sylvari redesign.

A classic case of stakeholders wanting to get the word out before all the final decisions have been made.
