After all the hullabaloo about gear I was surprised at checking the back items and finding them worse than my current ones.

Rare guild back pack with a exquisite ruby jewel in it:

45 power
4% critical damage
29 precision.

Ascended backpack that has no jewel slot:

22 power
16 precision
1% critical damage.

What am I missing here?

In that case the answer is easy, they aren’t Ascended items – those ones are exotic back items.

That dulfy link doesn’t work. So ascended items can only be made in the forge? Or what? It’s a little confusing
