Why are the new minis only avaible by big luck from those chests or if you spend a fortune on the TP for them. It was much better on halloween, when you could buy them for a fixed gem price. I dont enjoy gambling or throwing huge amounts of gold to lucky people.

Umm isn’t this how ALL mini’s are acquired… through gambling luck or from the TP?

Wait until the event actually starts tomorrow. They’re available as drops from doing the event. That alone, with how many people will be spamming the event, will either increase your chance of getting one, or drop the mini price significantly.

If you read the patch notes:

EVERYTHING in the consortium chests will be available in some other way (probably mob drops) from the new Lost Shore content.

I spent 30g via gems for the green chest and get the red drake. I’m very happy but after checking the TP, somehow i feel so stupid…

I suggest either keep it our sell it now to get some of your money back, it’s only going to go down

eh Imagine in the future when we’d be in cantha and celestial minis, because we all knew how ’’Lucky’’ we got at getting thoses from lunar bags back in gw1

My sentiments exactly. I would have been more than willing to purchase the new minis through the shop, but not if it involves chest RNG at all. I learned my lessons from other people’s Halloween stories and won’t be made a fool with this mechanic ever.

If they actually drop during the event, that’s okay and it’s better than pure chest drops. I don’t know if they’ll be available after the event in some way with the new dungeons/token system but that would be great as well. Either way I’ll get my chance through drops.

Would have preferred a way to purchase them separately in the shop, and have them drop but at a low rate during the 3 day event. I won’t ever support the chest RNG as it’s a very cheap money making tactic (works well, but not for the customer).

I hope they will drop down to below 10g each if they start dropping during the event.

This was I was hoping for as well. Didn’t really mind (kinda upset at overall $ price) buying two of those packs to get all four of the Halloween minis. Was gonna do it again with this, but I am definitly not buying any RNG chests to have a miniscule chance at getting only one of those minis.

Well wait until the event starts before getting overly critical of the drop rates of the minis. I suspect they will be better than the Halloween event was, ANet’s already done things to improve over the last event.

There is so much gambling in this game. I really hope they implement more minis in the future that you get as a result of an achievement or even as a dungeon drop.

You can make the chests in the MF. I assume the chances of minis etc are the same as the gem bought ones.

I admit I’ll be sad if I can’t get the 3 new minis. So far I have all the special minis and well on my way to all the minis period. It will irk me if my goal of having every single mini ever released is borked because of something outside my control. But apart from being sad I’m not going to quit over it or anything. I just really like collecting the minis.

I know I could buy them on the TP but that may also prove impossible for assorted reasons.

So some people found minis as a very rare drop from karkas. Will they drop dropping after the event or is it save to buy them now?

I found one in the new zone, it was an exotic one (sold it).

It dropped off a reef shark.

I’m also majorly disappointed that you can’t be sure to get the new minis with out a friggin fat wallet or excessive GRIND. Grind, anet, GRIND. Oh right, it was my fat wallet you wanted, nevermind.

I would have bought 1000 gems for them, but not this way anet, not this way.
