So, how much time I need to grind?
And how do you know how the reward system will work in a dungeon that has not been released?

No one knows the answer to this question, as Anet have given no indication on how long it will take. Speculating at this point seems like a waste of time to me.
stop saying “grinding” kitten #8230;. -.-
this game does not require grind.. the thing you are referring to is CASUAL PLAY.
grinding is commonly used in korean mmo’s that actually require a person to grind several months to acquire a certain type of equipment that differs from the normal one.
so you won’t have to “grind” to get the equipment, but you will have to PLAY the game to get it.
p.s.: believe me when i say these things… i’ve been a korean mmo game player for 5 years.

Some people consider GW2 as a grindfest while I have a legendary weapon (Bolt) and Anomaly to complement it 2 months in release (no RMT or gems) with a 60 hour/week job. Tststs
I highly suspect that most people that think GW2 is a grindfest don’t have any idea what a real “grindfest” is.

I have the same type of environent, high hour work week, but while I flip things on the AH, I have never been able to make too much, especially enough to make a legendary.
Show me your ways oh wise one.

Wow, just amazed at how people whine about this game being a grindfest. Seriously?!
Have you ever played another mmo? I guess not. If you had, you would be happy you can get your items on gw just with a few hours per day.
Anyway, if you don’t like grinding at all, then start doing sPvP and tPvP. But if you choose the progressive part of the game, then stop crying about it.
I don’t think Ascended gear will end up being better than exotics. The boosted stats still don’t look like they are going to be better than runes and gems. Deffo won’t be as versatile, if you change your build in exotics all you have to do is re-rune, if you change your build in Ascended you gotta go out and get everything again :I

Just a reference, we had something like that back in GW1 when we have to “infuse” our armor by doing a certain mission to do certain missions.
In my opinion, I don’t mind doing that and I agree with what most people say that it’s not “grinding” – whatsoever. It’s quite a shame that people are stressing over a big update.
If you guys want to feel at ease somehow, Arena Net is one of the better game companies out there and I had played their first game which is of course, GW1. In fact, I wouldn’t stress over anything. But then again, it’s just my “opinion” out of most MMOs I played so far…
Infusion in GW1 is nothing like what we know about this new infusion system. It was part of the storyline, you did a mission once (after the patch) and every piece of gear you had equipped would be infused.

Correct but not to cause your confusion, I’m just pointing it out as a reference or simply a similar example. I did not say it’s the exact system that the new update will have.

I have reached the top 1% of players in a Korean grinder that had aged 5 years, so I know what a grindfest is.
Max gear isn’t difficult to achieve RIGHT NOW. But guess what? It isn’t difficult to achieve in a grinder at first, either.
However, there are super rare skins that require 200+ hours of grinding or 500+ hours of casual play to achieve. So there is an optional grind already.
It’s new content, which is better than no new content. And it’s free. +1 in my books, looks like I’ll be coming back to the game this weekend.
