I’ve played the heck out of this game. Started on the day of the head-start and never looked back. I remember a friend was trying to rope me into Final Fantasy XIV – so I indulged him and played about 15 hours or so. Then GW2 came out. I remember trying to explain to him how it was an open-ended world, was all about exploration and with no “instances”. Quest were done on the fly, and you could join with others at will and that when others showed up, you were happy to see them. And WvW was a wonderful. Probably racked up over 1,100 hours or so.

Sadly, all that GW2 promised has now be neglected by Anet. For the last week or so, all I’ve done is log on for my Daily. I’ve got almost 50 laurels and can’t even work up the excitement to buy anything.

WvW is a dead-end. I figure, why bother? I can tell withing the first 4 hours what place my World will finish in. And rank means nothing any more with the random match ups.

I recently loaded Oblivion again (for Gods sake) and can’t see doing much more in GW2 than check in to see what direction things are heading every now and then.

Living World has killed this game for me.

Sadly, I’m starting to drift down this path myself.

Internet went out most of today, and I wasn’t even kitten ed I couldn’t play GW2. Not a good sign.

Take a break! There is not one person in existance that can enjoy something forever. If you ate you favorite food for a year it would get old. If you had your dream job you would still need to take vacation. Guild Wars 2 is designed so you can come and go without feeling obligated to stay.

I took a break after F&F and came back for cutthroat politics and I can tell you my excitement for each living world release is very high. Its like christmas! Or like waiting for the next episode of doctor who.

Go out and enjoy the real world. Your Engineer will be waiting for you when you return.

Look at the bright side, you can take off a month and you’re engineer will be the same when you get back. All the other classes will have grinded their ascended weapons by the time you get back and will be more powerful. But, rest easy knowing that all the engineers will still be sitting here exactly the same since our kits are unaffected by weapon damage. Turrets will still be bugged all to hell, and we’ll still be killing ourselves with our own grenades since retaliation does more damage to us than our grenades do to our enemies. As for living world, idk what to tell you, I don’t mess with it now that I’ve gotten my 6k achievement points.

Super adventure box is really my only likeable living world update, the rest have been awful. Although Colin definitely said sometime recently that they’re going to really up the quality of the living world updates now that they have multiple teams or something like that. If there was just one team before, bless them, there were blatantly like 5 of them too because this game is pretty much free to play can’t afford that many game devs…

I want to see actual game content. Not this temporary, grind until you get acheivement points content. A new dungeon, a new area, updated skills??

I’d rather they slow down on temporary content to once a month, and re-purpose those teams into actually improving the regular world.

I’m in the same boat lately as the OP, I log on to do my dailies. All I really want to do now is find a guild that actually does wvw, spvp, and dungeons (but since the rewards for those suck, people don’t do them).
