123 Days of No Living world / raid update
I long for the format of Season 1 back again. I really looked forward to something new every 2 weeks, and the awesome stuff we had like The Marionette, The Tower, The Scarlet Invasions, The Destruction of Lions Arch etc, things that actually changed the game and made it feel like a real living world. It all went a bit downhill for me when Season 2 started…:(
Hope the new update will be Season 1
But honestly, why just not add something on Fractal to be able to get back on time to replay like it was? (and not remake all, sorry but Season 2 was fine but it’s more a Personnal Story than a Living World :/)
it took them 3 years to add the first wing of the raid, estimated time left till the next wing: 2,75 years
We already knew we season 3 wouldn’t be starting before the end of march: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/state-of-the-game-update-q1-2016/
From that same source we also know that we will however get the 2nd wing before the end of march.
I hope we at least start seeing some news about Living world S3 in march
This conversation deserves more than to be sat in the desolate backwater of Living Story sub Forum – its a big issue – especially as they were pretty much bragging that Raids were not intended for the majority of Players.
For Casuals there is pretty much only LS as content with Dungeons decimated – and yet excluding the xpac there has been no open world casual content at all for two years as the last original LS content was in March 2014.
I’d like to see some events happening in the open world, nothing to do with the Mordrem, or elder dragons, or Heart of Thorns, or anything to do with the personal story that the living world has become, but events in the existing open world that would make the game world LIVE again.
Imagine exiting Lions Arch into Bloodtide Coast and suddenly finding the wreck of a huge mysterious ship washed up on the shore. It’s our job to search the coast for survivors while fighting off hoards of pirates trying to steal the treasures within, with clues leading us to where the ship came from etc, or suddenly hearing of a serious avalanche in the Shiverpeaks and our help is needed to aid the people there. The call to help could come up on screen just like when Scarlet was invading. Or the Asura have gone too far with their experiments and a huge monstrous Grub is wreaking havoc in Caledon Forest and we have to stop it! I know, just silly little ideas off the top of my head, but you get the idea.
Small random things that could happen in the existing open world, just as things happen in our own REAL world, suddenly, and for a brief period, never to be repeated. Surely that is what a LIVING world is all about?
LS releases are biweekly! Or is it monthly? Or… yearly? I don’t know.
Raid is coming in less than a week.
Raid is coming in less than a week.
I have yet to finish first wing.
On a related note, I think they could release LS on a monthly basis. It’s just not that difficult, given how much they created for a biweekly schedule. At least they could finally be consistent.

Yes, the world feels very much alive with the lightspeed fast living story content updates, all world bosses and meta maps on shedules etc.
if ppl steamroll everything and only zerg like mad, no wonder ppl get bored quickly.
the content Anet makes is made with plenty to do, if you do everything with only a fraction of the intended time then you get through everything extremely fast, this nothing to do till the next update.
take a step back, take time to do the stuff they add.
