4 More? How Do You Know That?
Magister Ela Makkay during Hidden Arcana Says the following.
“In conclusion, let’s recap. The five confirmed dragons are Kralkatorrik, Jormag, Primordus, Mordemoth, and Zhaitan. We believe there is another deep in the oceans, but its entry in the Scroll of the Five True Gods is partially missing..”
I don’t know if there was anything in game before that like one of the older races mentioning how many dragons there were but this scroll is the only thing I remember as something that says there’s only 6 in total.
Right. That was the only instance where I believe we heard of any in-game characters mentioning the Deep Sea Dragon. I am wondering just how familiar the world is now with the remaining dragons and specifically the deep sea dragon. Is it perhaps the Priory only? How common is this knowledge suppose to be?
There are also a ton of questions everyone both in-game and here on the forums must have for Rytlock as well.
-Jormag was fought directly by the Norn, so they’d probably have good knowledge of him.
-Some Charr witnesses and a fight against Destiny’s Edge for Kralky, so again, seems like decent knowledge.
-Primordus drove the Asura from the underground, complete with his Destroyers, so they probably have him down.
-Mordremoth, was something of a mystery, given no race had dealt with him within their pool of knowledge, before Heart of Thorns.
By the end of HoT, Rytlock makes a comment how well everyone has done and that there are only 4 elder dragons left?
While we the players know this, has it been established for the characters that there are 4 more? When was that exactly?
Yes, because The All is known to the Priory, as well as ancient dwarven and jotun texts that mention “sextant of swallowers” and how the old races (mursaat, jotun, dwarves, seers, forgotten) fought six Elder Dragons.
Go around the Durmand Priory and inside the instance. Talk to the scholars and read the books. It’s mightily clear that they knew of the existence of all six Elder Dragons for quite some time.
At the end of the personal story, the story journal even states “four more to go” – Trahearne and the Master of Whispers (if you’re a Whispers agent) mention this too – which means they were aware that – at the time – only five dragons (including Zhaitan) were awake. Then Mordremoth woke up and we killed it thus making it again “four more to go”.
