I just realized that the number of episodes have the connection with the Gods.

Let’s see:
Out of the Shadows- the secrets were revealed and the truth had won. The truth came out of the shadows (Kormir)

Rising Flames- the destruction and danger all over Ring of Fire but the destruction turned out with victory and Aurene was born in Tarir. (Melandru)

A Crack in the Ice- death and cold everywhere, the ice breaks down and also friendship. (Grenth)

The Head of the Snake- a lot of illusions and mesmer magic. (Lyssa)

Flashpoint- fire and heat are everywhere, flames are getting closer and we are getting closer to them. Everything is burning. (Balthazar)

One Path Ends- as I can see on the trailer that warmth and beauty is coming back to the place who was the hell for many years. Once Dwayna breathed the spring to Orr, gave the life, now her spring and beauty do it once more- the trees and the flowers are the signs of incoming reborn. Though dangers and death are still there, but the light is lighting much brighter. (Dwayna)

It is amazing.

I think you have made a rather tenuous connection there. I don’t think the number means anything at all beyond some natural coincidences.

However, I do find it a fun theory and I would change Rising Flames to Balthazar and Flashpoint to Melandru, since Draconis Mons and its hanging gardens and druids are more connected to Melandru than anything in Rising Flames is.

Indeed. Here are some other reasons that there might be six episodes:

  • With a ~2 month cadence, it means exactly a year of Living World before ANet’s ready to launch an expac.
  • It’s easily divisible by 2 and 3, allowing ANet flexibility in figuring out whether to have two teams take on three episodes each or three teams handling two.
  • Human attention span roughly accommodates keeping track of 7 things at once; six is a safer number when you want people’s attention.
  • Coincidence.
  • Half a dozen of one; six of the other.

I looked at the acronym for the name (OPE) and saw the code to stop the bombers from Dr. Strangelove, so hey.

This …. While I can see (yet not agree with) the theory of the OP this seems more likely.

I prefer 2 and 5 the other way around.
While indeed balthazar was revealed in episode 5, the same episode had a biodome in a place you’d expect desolate destruction. Hence i’d connect balthazar to episode 2 and Melandru to episode 5.

Plus, the druids (Melandru’s peeps) are in Draconis Mons. Seems like it was mostly his domain until Zinn tried to force technological “genius” upon nature.

But there’s deception & confusion in just about all the episodes, truths are revealed or uncovered in each, Jormag is associated with ice (not Grenth per se), and there’s hot spots in nearly all the episodes.

It’s not impossible that there’s a connection, it just seems tenuous and not very notable.

I think there were 6 episodes because there are 3 gathering tools. Each gather tool is used in 2 episodes:

Episode 1: MINE Blood Rubies
Episode 2: CHOP Petrified Wood
Episode 3: HARVEST Fresh Winterberries
Episode 4: MINE Jade Shards
Episode 5: CHOP Fire Orchids
Episode 6: HARVEST ???

That just made me think of the movie 23. It’s everywhere!

Well Orr has always been known for its omnomberries. But it would be fitting to have like ambrosia or something since it’s the temples of the gods.
