Hi, I am so hyped!

So, the whole trailer is very interesting.

We can see 2 different aspects: Flame and Ice, Primordus and Jormag.

First seconds are the reminder about Primordus and I think it will be one of the bigger point of the upcoming story. He is fully active and we have to keep an eye on him, so I expect another Taimi’s chapter.

Rox and Garm are going alone to find Braham and we will join to them in Frostgorge Sound.

We will explore the new teritory with Braham and Rox. I doubt, that Kas and Jory will join to us, and Taimi will explore new interesting things, Rytlock will be still in Black Citadel.

I don’t want say everything what you can notice in the trailer, and WoodenPotatoes did it well. but I want back to the title of my topic.

A Crack in the Ice:

1) Maybe it shows the gate to Far Shiverpeaks, maybe temperature in Tyria is still rising and reached to Far Shiverpeaks. Then the gates to the new teritory melted.
2) this title can mean the weakness of Jormag, maybe we will discover Jormag’s weakness with Taimi.
3) Maybe the big boss sleeps under water and when this boss will rise from the water, it will cause a crack.

I noticed another thing, look at the screenshot from guildwars2.com

It looks like cave, but something is inside this!
Something big, what it is? Jormag, Drakkar?

I don’t think it means anything more than the next chapter is going to be ice themed and ‘a crack in the ice’ sounds suitably dramatic.

Look at the names of previous living story chapters and what they’re about. There’s definitely a connection, but the name only ties into the content in a general sense, they’re not elaborate references to numerous parts of the storyline.

of course we all know that, but its fun to speculate and let our imaginations run wild.. mostly wild into a wall, but wild nonetheless

Haha, I love to speculate, because when I speculate I believe in the words I said, so when story comes out, I am surprised, when there is something new, what I didn’t expect, like the last chapter of Epizode 2

I know that I am leaving the planet with my speculation, but maybe these will become truth Who knows?

It revolves around the meaning of the word crack. So I googled the definition for crack and came up with (in no particular order)

1) “a hard, crystalline form of [illegal drug name] broken into small pieces and smoked” O.o
presumably not this one, not even if the devs are trying to use Skinnerism to encourage additive gameplay.

2) “a joke, typically a critical or unkind one.”
Maybe, if it involves voices coming out of the ice you’re running over making jokes or unkind remarks, no doubt about the armor transmutations you’ve chosen. (Fits into the bloodstone madness if you’re hearing critical voices coming from your surroundings).

3) “a line on the surface of something along which it has split without breaking into separate parts.”
Naw. Boring

4) “a sudden sharp or explosive noise.”
Boring also (downvotes)

Hmmm. I’m voting for option 2 but keeping option 1 as a reserve.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Jormag, you have been called to this called under the premise that you have broken act 183.22, for selling drugs to underages tyrians, and have used force to run away from the police. How do you plea?

Well they seemed to be digging a frozen dragon out of the ground, could mean a crack in the layers of ice keeping Jormag buried.

Or maybe they thought it sounded cool and thought what the hell.

I really doubt, that the dragon from the trailer is Jormag. It is almost certainly, that this is Claw of Jormag. We didnt know how they are formed (Claws), so I expect the discovery of this secret.

And ANet doesn’t want reveal the appearance of dragons, so we will see the dragons in the last chapters of epizodes. It is like “Top Secret” for ANet and I am grateful for this.

But I got 1 disappointment and 1 admiration of dragons’s appearance:

admiration- Zhaitan- the best thing in Zhaitan is that, he looked like the dragon. Amazing artwork and I really like everything in Zhaitan.
disappointment- Mordremoth- I am confused, who Mordremoth is. It is mouth, jungle, snake, Trahearne, brain, avatar. Btw, I wanted see the big dragon, without any addition. Dragon without wings is not a dragon… Mordremoth was a snake and snakes are so far from dragons in evolution

I mean, I want see a big dragon, a dragon from books, not exaggerated like Mordremoth.

I thought it was interesting that the trailer showed a flash of Jora’s statue. And I wonder if something about her and her past is woven into the story? Either way I love how they set this up and introduced it in the trailer! If the storyline is half as good as their presentation its going to be awesome!

In spring ice cracks as it melts so could be an allusion to that, could also be walking on thin ice and a crack is not what you want to see.
