" A " Point of No Return
No more waypoints? Pfff I hope not. I remember from the trailer the vine touching the waypoint somehwhere.
That was just a recap of what we saw when Mordremoth first began to spread into our lands. Most of the trailer is made of flashbacks.
My personal theory is that Mordremoth attacks Camp Resolve (via his vines and his minions), the Pact attacks him, but he pulls out something they hadn’t previously expected (the giant flower, maybe, or the Shadow of the Dragon makes another appearance), and the Pact suffers a devastating defeat, losing almost all of their airships or maybe even the Glory of Tyria itself. However, even though they are now effectively crippled, they can’t go back because they are the last line of defense for Tyria. Hence, the “Point of No Return”.
Half-life 3 Confirmed

It seems the point of no return points in an exciting direction after all.

Still a bit too vague. It could be that they’re announcing the return of Living Story Season 1 as buyable content (grandfathered in for veterans who were there), the Personal Story being revamped to use the same system, and then using the same system as LS2 going forward.
