These are some ideas I have been working on. I believe this type of content will be a gamechanger and really revitalize alot of zones in Guildwars 2, as well as entice new players to stay in the game by constantly providing something to do. The objective of this idea is to “deliver content to the player” instead of “forcing players to find the content or miss it.”
RISE OF THE PACT
1 year has passed since the defeat of Zhaitan. The Pact has rearmed, solidified new alliances, and is ready to take on the mantle of fighting evil all across the lands of Tyria. To aid them in this endeavor, the Pact now calls for the aid of Tyria’s greatest heroes.
Features:
-Pact Armor for light, medium, and heavy users is available at the gemstore for 800 gems each. Support the Pact by serving in uniform!
-A new story mode instance that allows the players to enlist the aid with the pact by speaking to the Pact Recruiters at Lions Arch. This story instance will use an airship to transport the players to Fort Trinity to speak with the pact leaders about the pacts role in improving the world and fighting evil all across the land. When the story is complete the players are returned to Lion’s Arch. Players of any level can participate.
-Pact Mission System: A new system is being implemented to improve dynamic events all across Tyria. Tired of running to events and never making it on time? With the pact’s aid, jump aboard an airship and be transported from event to event! Now with the pact’s aid, dynamic event content comes to you!
-New backslots and rare drops are available from participating in pact missions. As the forces of players aiding the pact in their missions grow, so do the difficulty of the missions. Complete mission after mission for increasing rewards and the chance to experience never before seen bosses and open world content!
-Pact Airstrike: Purchase this new finisher and bombard your foe with a barrage of missiles from the Pact’s Finest. 600 gems.
PACT MISSION SYSTEM:
Guildwars 2: Rise of the Pact will implement a new kind of mission system. After this pact goes live, the dynamic events scattered all across Tyria will be easily accessed through a new “Pact Mission” button next to the player’s PvP button.
After this patch there are Pact Airships that travel all across Tyria, dropping teleportation beacons that players can use to travel from dynamic event to dynamic event to help those in need. Opening the pact mission button shows the player where the airships currently are and allows a player to instantly join an pact mission in progress by clicking an airship and hitting “join.” Some airships may provider harder content than others.
When players join pact missions they are instantly teleported to the location of the event via airship beacon. Lowbies are upleveled accordingly to the zone the events take place in, allowing any player to participate in the content all across the world. Pact events appear as blue in open world and anyone in the zone can participate. When the events complete, the airship flies to a new event location and drops another beacon. Players can use the temporary beacons to teleport from event to event as they complete, providing a constant stream of content.
The pact missions continue in cycles of 5 missions. The events scale up and grow harder as the zerg following the airship grows larger and larger. This leads to better rewards, new elite mobs, and harder content. At the end of 5 missions the airship flies the group to a boss event that takes place in open world that involves new champions, old champions like the Jungle Troll, or sometimes existing superbosses such as Golem Mark II, Tequatl, and The Shatterer. These boss events award mats required for ascended crafting and sometimes award ascended equipment boxes, rares, and new never before seen items.
As the game expands in future patches so will the pact missions, adding new event types, new bosses, and more rewards.
Just like the Queen’s Jubilee event, the airships are visible in the sky as they fly through the world, adding to the ambiance of Guildwars 2.
