Anyone else experiencing a ridiculously low drop rate on the key pieces? If this is going to be daily might want to make it better than 1 piece per hour. I have already done 6 world events, killed about 20 champs and mowed through at least 1k worth of mobs and gotten exactly 1 key piece.

Well, I got one within the first 5 minutes of playing (in the cursed shore). I ended up getting 6 today. I sold them all on the TP and made some nice change. I would have saved them had I known it would be a daily. But fear not, they do drop a lot. And this is coming from someone who NEVER gets rare drops

I’ve been running around all over the place trying to kill mobs to drop these keys. After several hours I haven’t found a single key. I even hopped on my necro, went to an area with a very high respawn rate and sat there for a long time while minions killed stuff for me. I checked back every couple of minutes to make sure the minions were alive and to collect loot. Tons of loot. Zero keys.

I haven’t tried Cursed Shore yet. Maybe I’ll head there next.

I get 4 keys pieces from 1 Temple of Melandru event. Try cursed shore.

I got 5 pieces (1 whole key) from doing the new dungeon path once.

I got some from killing Ogres during a world event.

How many key pieces do I need to open all 5 chests? 5 to assemble a key or 25 for each chest?

I got 9 in one clear of the dungeon so even half of that is most of a key, and my understanding is you only get to use 1 key per run. Or can you use several if you get to the chests in time?

So the keys basically only drop from the dungeon and have a low chance to drop outside of it. That is stupid considering you would want to have the keys to get that chest achievement. How many times do they want you to run this dungeon? Wouldn’t that be grinding?

I’ve gotten four pieces so far from running with the Champion farm-train in Queensdale. No idea if the magic find helps the drop rate, but I’ll guess it does.

But, mine is only around 50% right now.

I got 5 pieces for the daily outside of the dungeon, but it took a while.

there are thousand’s of that on the AH on my server and they selling it for 5 silver

So I am seeing a lot of people complaining about getting key pieces. In just over an hour I can get 15-25 pieces. Just walk around the area near the entrance to the dungeon and i was finding a 1/20-33 drop rate from the monsters in the immediate area. Bring in a character that does AoE damage and go to town on those guys and you should get quite a few. Have Fun!

I don’t know how much the Aether Key Piece drop rate has changed since then, but they’re probably not going to be reading your response. ;P

Aether Key pieces are now selling for 20 or so copper on the TP. I think it’s safe to say that acquiring them is in no way a challenge now.

nah i have way too many, however aetherblade shards don’t drop at all anymore -.-
