Hello, with LS2 comming nearer and nearer, and because we already had a teaser thrown at us, I wanted to do a forum post on personal expectations that I’ve had ever since Mordremoth’s rise, i’d like to see aswell how the player base reacts to my predictions.

First of, after seeing the picture of the dungeon portals, I went back to check out the Aurora Remains area, an area within Brisban Wildlands that serves at the moment no purpose within the game (Aside from a meta event that is also fairly hidden). Aurora’s Remains is a small hidden area in the east of Brisban, and what I find to be the only “Real” jungle map in this game. In this small grove, you find a few curious npcs (The only white mantle npcs outside of the personal story) I have provided you with a picture of Aurora’s Remains under this post.

As to predictions:

1. 6 new maps, Including the Ruins of Denravhi as a dungeon, Tarnished Haven (The area between the grove and Rata’sum as a possible new hub, and 4 maps crossing the entire Magus Falls.

2. We will see another Pale Tree; Yes. This one is very high up the probarbility list. In the Sylvari Personal Story, the story line “Where life goes, so too shall you” lets us meet with a Sylvari by the name of Malyck, Malyck claimed to be of another pale tree that resides around the magus falls.

3.Caithe’s Secret: We have been teased ALOT about Caithe’s secret in Season 1, in Season 2 I believe we will learn that Caithe has killed Malyck in order to prevent a war between the Sylvari born from our Pale Tree, and the Pale Tree Malyck came from.

4: White Mantle sidestory; This one should be fairly obvious, By the end of the Season we will most likely get to hear more about the White Mantle and what they have been up to, remember Belinda? She mentioned something about investigating bandits within the Brisban Wildlands. In the Human Personal story there is a part (I believe it’s the Never Knew your True Parrents) storyline, that talks about how the White Mantle and Bandits are hiding within the Maguuma Jungle. Possibly Season 2 will give us some small parts of this, and LS Season 3 (You know, that thing that is VEEEERRRYYY far in the future) , will send us towards the Isles of Jan’thir, and most likely the Woodlands Cascades.

5: Hylek Playable Race; This one might be a bit far fetched, but this, to me, seems like a better probarbility than a Tengu playable race. Why? The Hylek are native to the maguuma jungle, they have quite an established lore (Tribal Dominance and “Sun God”) and overall, they are “different” and we all know “Different” is what arena-net likes. The Sun God could further more play a part with Season 3, The Sun God could even be the last living Mursaat: Lazarus the Dire.

If you’ve taken it this far to read my post, this is all that i’m expecting so far. Perhaps im expecting much, perhaps im expecting too little. Please, if you wish to react, do so in a creative way, no critisizing or hate for one’s thoughts!

Arenanet likes different?

As a Charr player since the start of GW2 i can tell you that Charr’s are extremely unpopular and they seem to be very unpopular and of very low priority (if at all) for the Devs. Charr’s are also different since they are no humanoid-like playable race. So much to your theory of them liking different. Before they introduce any new playable race they should fix up all the problems we (Charr players) face every day with a playable race that is “different”.

Other than that, interesting ideas but nothing new. Literally everyone is suspecting White Mantle and the Sylvaries getting some huge story parts in S2.

Another thing people keep mistaking is that the Mursaat are extinct, other than Lazarus, there’s still an entire city of theirs at least if not a nation more.

Charr where the first “Bad Guys” you came across in guild wars. The other problem with them is they are a military force. It’s there way of life. As a guild wars 1 player I hate the Charr. They took my ancestral home. I want it back! Right after I burn down the pail tree. But that’s why charr are probably unpopular. Most of guild wars lore revolved around humans and the 6. The fact charr have no gods and only believe in them selfs there is not much room for development as a race. But with that said. Charr are kitten. They are probably one of the strongest races in Tyria.

The resin the trees. Are getting all the “love” is that all the other races have lore from Guild Wars. Everyone kinda knew what they where going to be like from playing guild wars.

I think centaur PCs are more likely than hylek PCs, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for either at this point, even though centaur PCs are at the top of my wishlist.

I really hope we get to meet the other Pale Tree. Malyck, the sylvari who is not of the Pale Tree of the Grove — the one we all know of — comments at the end of the player’s encounters with him (assuming you picked that path) that he wants to head back west, to Magus Falls, where his people live, and ask them to aid Tyria in fighting the elder dragons.

I feel like they will make an appearance seeing as that is were Mordremoth is chilling — in the area and Malyck now knows of the struggle Tyria has against the Elder Dragons.

1. I doubt there’d be that many new zones. Reason being is that Season 2 effectively added 5 new zones (three of which are annual, one was one-time, and one is permanent), but they were each tiny compared to other zones. And they were stretching it sometimes.

I also doubt that the Ruins of Denravi will become a dungeon – we already see all there is to the ruined Henge of Denravi! What else is there to see or explore? And why would we get a dungeon there?

2. Possible. It’s also possible it will be corrupted by Mordremoth, given proximity. Or burnt to the ground when we get there.

3. Why would there be a war and why would Caithe keep the act of killing Malyck (which would seem weird giving the way she was when Malyck left) a secret from the players though? More likely, the secret is the mere existence of Malyck and his tree, since Scarlet threatens to tell Faolain.

4. I doubt that Season 3 will send us to Janthir or the Woodland Cascades (despite common belief, there is nothing linking Janthir to the mursaat or White Mantle beyond Saul retrieving a single artifact from there – and the White Mantle believe Janthir is south, not north). But a focus on the Sinister Triad is possible.

5. Nope. We won’t be getting hylek as a playable race. Reason why is that one of the requirements for the playable races is to be a major race – a powerful ally. There was, a long long time ago, a post by a dev on Guild Wars 2 Guru about what are thought about for professions and races when considering them. And all the sympathetic races fall short in these considerations (this is why they’re sympathetic aka minor races). I don’t think we’ll be getting a new playable race in Season 2, personally speaking – I expect such for Season 3 or inbetween the two.

The “Sun God,” aka Zintl, is the sun itself. No physical being. Just the sun. That giant, shining, ball in the sky. Some of them even acknowledge that Zintl is nothing more than the sun, and may not be sapient, but still revere it because without it there cannot be life or day or light.

Colin more or less explicitly stated that the charr are a low priority because they’re not popular.

The irony is that they’re not popular because of that low priority meaning they’re never getting simple tail clipping fixes.

Another thing people keep mistaking is that the Mursaat are extinct, other than Lazarus, there’s still an entire city of theirs at least if not a nation more.

There is no evidence to support such an implication. There are even Priory scholars who’s focus is on the mursaat who say that all evidence points to their extinction. Though we know Lazarus survived 250 years ago (but we don’t know how old mursaat can be).

But still, no evidence or implication of a city or a nation of mursaat living still.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

As a Charr player and not an ex-GW1 player, I say: “Humans stole it first! They just took it back!”

Would you have twice as many shoe slots, or just one slot for all 4? Wouldn’t they technically be hoof slots? Also could other player ride on their backs, that will hopefully stop all the mount requests :P

Personally, I’m of the opinion that Caithe’s secret might be something more along the lines that she (and potentially other first born) know about Mordremoth. That her wyld hunt might be to slay him, not Zaihtan.

As a sylvari player, we’re told that only 2 have even been given the wyld hunt to slay a dragon… you character and Caithe. We all automatically infer that the dragon she is tasked with slaying is Zaihtan, but that may not actually be the case.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.
