I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

Well, not much to say about them, actually.
Their unique defense characterists is very nice.
When CCed, they’re flipped on their backs, making them vulnerable to damage from all sides.
But I get the feeling that their flipped on their backs by CC frames could be a tad slightly longer, making CC to be even better against them.
I’m not saying they should be flipped over for 10 seconds, I don’t know how much longer would be good for gameplay.

The time they’re on their back is enough, their exposed bellies melt like wax. By the time they flip back over, they get a dagger in the skull.
I like fighting them, as annoying as others can make them.

Oh well, I might as well blame the zergs that are mostly killing them, they don’t even use CC at all.
Primary problem why I haven’t gotten the grasp of their flipped over state much.
i havnt tried it yet but what if u fear them? xDD
i think this could pretty much suck..^^
doe conditions do damage when u are behind him?
thatd be a nice touch
yeah i like the idea as well
even if u cant backstab them unless someone else flips them for you

Giant Beetles are immune to damage and conditions from any other side than it’s head. Conditions will keep doing damage, if you managed to apply them on it’s head.
CCing, including fear, will flip the beetle on it’s back, making it vulnerable to damage and conditions from all sides.
They have pretty fun mechanics, to be honest. That charge destroys entire zerg balls spamming #1
Forgot to mention this about my experiences:
When ever I intentionally do CC, they get back quite quickly, staying flipped over for 1-2 free hits at most.
Although, if they’re flipped over and CCed again, they’re then suffer the CC effect…

mhmmh fearing them just flipps them over?
works well mechanicly but im sure one would think something else would happen instead…xD
immune to get condis applied from the back but still ticking once applied… nice
i just dont know if anet can pull of more of those ideas out of… nowwhere
if they can.. id like it
finally mobs that u dont just fight like litterally every other mob^^
I hope that we will see the beetles and Mordrems or their mechanics in good and various combinations implemented in future dungeons.
Ok, I just did CC for a zerg which just ran away when were attacked by the giant beetles…
It was pain as they were more running away than trying to kick them in the face, many of my CC’kitten the sides and back of the beetles, since the idiots ran away all the time…
But then again, when ever it was successful hit, watched as the beetle flipped over with successive CCs, beetles started to melt quickly.
Well, gotta agree with Boneheart, they don’t need much of a buff, these beetles, unless there’s more serious problems with some players with incapabilities…
I gotta say I love those beetles, I hope to see more beetles, rollerbeetls, swarm of tiny beetles, flying beetles, etc.
I do think it can be hard to flip them in a group setting, especially if you don’t have aggro, but as a thief, killing them was a matter of steal+dodge to the front+ dazing shot. I’ve been trying to knock them back when they charge but no luck, I think they might be stable when doing so.
It was annoying to get the hang of them as a ranger using a shortbow, but once I did I enjoyed them. Other rangers and MM Necros may have problems with them.
I’d bet they tend to shrug off bouncing attacks, too.
You’ve still got to CC them from the front to flip them over though, just FYI. Was rather annoying using my CC’s on the beetles, only for them to turn at the last second and get “Invulnerable” on my screen.
I wish that the hit arc on beetles was a little wider. It seems like you need to hit them from like 5-10 degrees directly in front of them, but it would be better if the arc was more like 25% or so.
