Where is this going? So far, they are merely disturbing (I fear for that man’s sanity and just want to get him out of that well!).

Any clues?

They? Did you receive more than one unique letter from him?

Yeah. I got a second one a couple of days ago. The second letter talks about how his pet rat died (and took one of Blaine's toes with him). He also has given himself a fancy title.

Oh, cool! I’ve yet to receive another, but then, it took around 5 days to receive the first one (unlike many others that got theirs within a day or two.)

I did receive a second letter from the creepy dude in the well. I’m also wondering if this will lead to something eventually. It could just be some sort of pop-culture reference I don’t get.

I only received one letter from Blaine, and I finished everything in LD within the first week of release. Did you trigger the second letter somehow or did it just pop in your mail box?

I doubt this is going to be about money. What would you need money for when you are stuck in a well anyway?

I got my first mail.. maybe 4-5 days after feeding? and the second about a week later, don’t quite remember when exactly

FWIW, I fed him really late compared to most, and just got my second letter, so yeah, they still show up. I felt the same “is this really broken though” thing.

I got a third Blaine letter today. He now calls himself Lord Blaine, Prince of Winslow. And he’s switched from gardening to “armoring”.

Odd. I wonder if this is going somewhere, or just more (appreciated, by me, at least) ArenaNet humor.

Me too. Just got a third letter from him. The letter came on a character I didn’t feed him with for the achievement (or have even been to Lake Doric with yet), so it seems to be an account thing.

I’m curious now, and kinda excited, but trying not to get my hopes up that anything will happen.

It’s not a big deal, and I can read them on the wiki anyhow, but just curious.

I got letter number 4 today. This one was signed “His Majesty King Blaine, Regent of Winslow Well”. He’s apparently planning to leave the well at some point, too.

So, when do we get to save this guy? After he loses all trace of his sanity?

I’m so wishing I’d known to feed him day one. I’m still on letter 3. So very curious where this is going. Is it a major plot point? Is it fluff like the cats collection? (I am all for silly fluff btw, it adds a lot of fun. It’s why I sit through movie credits, just in case there’s a “cookie” at the end).

I love the silly fluff, too. I really hope this has some sort of satisfying payoff, even if it’s not important to the main story in any way. I just love silly stuff.

It’s weird that you can’t interact with him though.

I wish I could at least give him a rope.
Or maybe glue together all of the crap that Cin didn’t want in his collection to form a ladder of junk so he could climb out.

I just noticed that the rat king in that video has many heads. That reminded me.
Apparantly, long ago, they actually made “Rat Kings” by hand. They collected rats, and then tied them together at the tail, so you’d have a wriggling ball of rats.

Is possible one of your other characters got them I think, I got one on my guardian but my thief was the one who fed him so I think it’s sent to the first character you log on to after the patch or maybe the first one in Lake Doric after the patch?

Not the case here. I’m pretty active on all my characters and would have noticed. Again, not a biggie, just interesting.

I got a letter on an alt, so this can happen.

I only got the first letter on the character I completed his task with. The rest of the letters have always come on a random alt since then. Might just be the first one you log in on, on the scheduled delivery time.
