Break after finale?
Of course. How else are we going to have season 4 of WvW?
We don’t know when the finale for Season 2 is. And we do not know how it ends and as such we also have no idea if there will be any breaks or how long any potential break would be. And no, they can’t really tell us without giving us more information than they should.

No. We know that S2 continues on January 13th. There is no information whatsoever about if that is the very final part of S2 or if it is just the continuation of the story with multiple new episodes before the big finale.
The armor set doesn’t really tell us much either. Only that we will get the last two parts with Episode 8. For all we know with a potential Episode 9 we will get another set (there have been new armors data-mined recently).

We know that S2 continues on January 13th. There is no information whatsoever about if that is the very final part of S2 or if it is just the continuation of the story with multiple new episodes before the big finale.
The armor set doesn’t really tell us much either. Only that we will get the last two parts with Episode 8. For all we know with a potential Episode 9 we will get another set (there have been new armors data-mined recently).
Anet said that the first four episodes of S2 where the first half of S2. So the second half of S2 has to be also 4 episodes (which means episode 8 will be the last episode of S2) or A-Net has a very strange interpretation of the word “half”.

It’s possible that chapter 8 isn’t the last chapter, but that means that we took a break, just to come back, and spin our wheels some more, as we get another short chapter, and then a cliffhanger. I want some resolution after a month, not more cliffhangers.
The fact that nobody has outright said how many chapters is weird. It looks like there are going to be 8 episodes in season 2, which means that they already know. But if that’s the case why not say so officially to let their player base know? This seems unnecessarily secretive unless they have been arguing on whether to split part 8 in two. From memory they told us when there would be four episodes to conclude season 1, and even said there would be an epilogue.

Because if they announced that they were taking a 6 week break, doing 1 episode and then taking a 12 week break most people would have quit the game.
If they don’t tell us then we stay and play with hopeless optimism.
More likely is that they originally planned for an 8 episode season but fell behind on their schedule and have since extended it to more episodes to fit everything in and give them more time to finish it.
More likely they’re just taking a Christmas break like everyone else, and the last episode will be on Jan 13th. After that there will be another break until Valentine’s Day. They just add enough grind for the last pieces into the last season update to keep people “busy”.
I’m not worried though. I’ve got a crapload of stuff to do still between my 5 lvl 80 characters, and another char coming up in the levels.
And still haven’t unlocked a single lumi piece either.

Well I see episdoe 8 coming, a surprise valentine break with some nice gemstore hearts and bunny ears(crossing my fingers). Hopefully episode 9 and then maybe a break til june so we can fit in season 4 of wvw, zephyrites, NPE feature patch, all that good stuff.
