From what I’m guessing, sacrifices will be made to separate the Sylvari from Modremoth’s hands to keep the Sylvari Race alive. It’s 80% chance of the death of Pale Tree (20% chance if she got lucky?) . It was to be expected when Modremoth dies and if he dies, the whole sylvari race will as well. Now there might be a way to keep the whole race alive and prolly the death of the firstborn who dreamt to face an elder dragon in future met will have to give her life and that’ll be Caithe. Now this is only a discussion thread, I’m not jumping to conclusion. It’s a high chance that Caithe will face the elder dragon to save her race and her friends. But idk, this is what i think.

Anyways, we all know Faolain wouldn’t be so happy to see Caithe die and prolly will fight to save Caithe and Plot twist, Faolain sacrifice herself and her nightmare to save the entire Sylvari Race. How? The death of the elder dragon could be in the hands of the firstborn. So how about Trahearne? Will he earn a heroic name in defeating the Elder Dragon? Not sure.

What happens to Destiny’s Edge though? I would probably say they scatter after the fall of the Pact. Eir would be alone while Logan and Zojja would be somewhere together. Trahearne would be far from them since he was on a different ship. They wouldn’t fall and die just yet, that wouldnt be fun now would it? but there’s the White Mantle and sacrifices. They might wanna kill someone they find there since a possible Mursaat reawaken. Hah !

At the end of scene after Killing the shadow of Modremoth, we saw Sylvari turning against the Pact, throwing bombs like Bandits and all fighting the other races, they went mad but a sylvari was not affected by it. Faolain seems okay. So I’m guessing that only the Firstborn has no affect towards the Modremoth hypnotism or control, OR because the opposing forces, Nightmare Court did not fight Elder dragon, instead are already following Modremoth orders from the start.

Feel free to add on information
Any theory, discussion, awesome Plot twist that can be expected in HoT living Story.

The undead are still in Orr (yes, in lore too) even after Zhaitan’s death. There’s no reason to think Mordremoth’s death will mean the end of the sylvari.

Just want to put this out there, but the Easter Egg cinematic that plays right after the one you see Pact fleet get destroyed, Faolain is seen killing an Order of Whispers member with a spear. She also seems to have a couple extra thorns growing out of her back, so I don’t think she will be on anyone’s side but Mordemoth’s.

It was to be expected when Modremoth dies and if he dies, the whole sylvari race will as well.

Why would this be so? The risen continue even though Zhaitan’s dead, and they also continue spreading corruption (see Arah explorable and Tequatl Rising) though it’s a losing battle for them, mostly.

I would probably say they scatter after the fall of the Pact. Eir would be alone while Logan and Zojja would be somewhere together. Trahearne would be far from them since he was on a different ship.

Trahearne, Logan, Eir, and Zojja were all on the same ship – The Glory of Tyria, the Pact’s flagship – actually. In the cinematic end of Season 2/the preview for HoT, we see all four falling from said ship. In the first beta we also found dialogue stating that all four had been captured by Mordrem for unclear reasons (given the corpse-like state of mordrem wolves and trolls, it may be that preparations are needed to corrupt non-plant beings for Mordremoth).

How do you gather that Faolain was okay? She was amongst the fighting between sylvari, mordrem, and the races. And killing a human at that.

I’m doubtful that the Nightmare Court are under Mordremoth’s influence – why? During pre-release lore, we were told that the Nightmare Courtiers also fight the Elder Dragons. Unfortunately this wasn’t shown in-game, but that makes them like standard sylvari – the only dragon minions known to fight other dragon minions. Furthermore, a few weeks ago it was said that Mordremoth sends his influence to sylvari via the Dream’s Wyld Hunts and the Nightmare’s equivilant: Dark Hunts. If he has to send influence via the loophole in the protection made by Wyld Hunts and do the same for Dark Hunts, that implies Nightmare is not Mordremoth’s influence.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Canach is not firstborn and he resisted the effect. All the player characters resisted too (even though my new ele is sylvari named Sylvari Mordrem and looks the most most awfully possible :-P)

After seeing the cinematic again yesterday, I think Faolain isn’t “possessed” by the dragon. Her eyes aren’t red. She willingly joined him. Meaning she’s the worst of them all…

Strong chance Eir is dead after watching the cinematic. Couple her fall with Braham grabbing her bow, gives us the lore to introduce Braham as the first Dragonhunter.

Agreed, lore wise Caithe will plant a new tree before this one dies.

Preserving the Sylvari evermore.
