Good day everybody,

Being back in Guild Wars 2 and rather active the last days I have one quick question: Can one play a current event later? I really want to have the bloodstone visage skin but I cannot afford “Heart Of Thorns” this month and asked myself if one is able to play the current events (in this case of the “bloodstone harvest”) later in time, e.g. next month?

Yes you can. As long as you have unlocked a living story chapter on your account you can start it any time you wish. It is a good idea if you play at all regularly to make sure to at least log on whenever a new living story chapter is released, as simply logging in will unlock that episode for free, forever.

EDIT: I realised that I misread and thought you were talking LS chapters. No one is really sure if the current events will last forever, but the trend so far has been to add to them, not remove them.

So every “current event”-chapter that was been added so far is still in the game and can still be played?

Yes, all of the current events that have been added are still active and can still be completed.

But we don’t know how long that will last. To me the name Current Events implies it’s temporary but on the other hand Anet had stopped doing temporary content that never came back because it got so much negative feedback from players. But we’ve deliberately been given very little information about Current Events – they’re not announced when they’re released, a lot of them either aren’t in the patch notes or they’re only hinted at and the achievements are hidden until you start them. So we don’t know for sure.

My advice is that if there’s specific ones you want to do then make sure you do them as soon as you can, but don’t stress about it too much if you can’t do them right away because it seems unlikely they’re going to disappear any time soon.
