Can't do "The Waypoint Conundrum" need help
you dont have to spawn that wolf. Use Scruffy’s detection ability to help identify the right crate to open and ignore the rest.
Hmmm pretty sure I did and he didn’t identify anything, will give it a go.
Thanks it worked
You can also jump up and down from the ledge and it can’t hurt you. Range it from there.
Since when Veteran mobs are impossible to kill? Oh…unless you are using TVH

The difficulty in this one is the fact it has high HP (I play Berserker Guard and it was a pain) and a very high damage leap attack. I found the elite mobs in some dungeons easier to solo than this mob.

Stop being a kitten when you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
I can handle most veteran mobs just fine this one was an issue since it causes bleeding and has other nasty effects.

Well I play a Guardian using Swords, I don’t have any good ranged weapons so it’s not really an option.

You mean conditions? Bring condi clear skills then…every class has the access to them, and dodge his charge and shout…the shout itself hits hard.
Guardian has a lot of blind, use them when you see it starting to casting skills.

Whatever… you might think you are helping but you are not.
I have a condition remover, you obviously have not encountered the mob in question or have some kind of über gear.

I did the story 3 times just FYI, one for story unlock, one for trigger all traps+kill all mobs and one for avoid all traps….killed him twice and I never see it has any issues.
Gear wise, I used zerk/rabid to beat it, both works just fine…(zerk necro with dagger+WH/dagger+focus and rabid condimancer) so I don’t think my gear is that uber at all.
Nope but you are ranged, the new content is favoring ranged a lot, same with the Statue thing, it’s super easy as ranged annoying as hell as melee.

Well, zerk necro is a meele class since it needs to use dagger as main hand. Yes, the fight is harder if you choose to meele only because that guy moves a bit too much (the half map charge…)…but it looks to me that mob always charge back right after the first charge…

I play Guardian too, I just make sure to bring my Scepter along. Never forget a Scepter.

The problem I have is that the wolf has near constant retaliation. As an elementalist there’s not much I can really do against a leaping, perma-retaliating wolf who is apparently – and maybe it’s ping times/lag – always flanking me no matter what I do. It’s frustrating.
Mordrem wolves are de debil. The leap high damage pounce, the cripple, the flanking… all of those aren’t too bad individually. But combine those with the constant retaliation for the tougher wolves (perhaps all veterans and above?) and the howl that gives an AoE retaliation, and I am not a fan.
Anyway. When you walk up to the crates in the instance, take note of what it says. There are different crates you can interact with, and Scruffy’s scan is not needed to tell which is the one with the stones you need. You do not have to fight the wolf if you don’t want to.
My second and third characters went through the instance without fighting anything at all (first one triggered some traps accidentally and had some normal earth elementals to fight, no trouble whatsoever).

Actually his suggestions are good. No über gear is required. And a guardian has so many blinds ( Flashing Blade, Leap of Faith, Ray of Judgment, Justice is Blind)
and blocks (Shield of Wrath, Shelter, Virtue of Courage) along with lots of dodges from easily obtained vigor that it really should not be a major problem. If the retaliation is a problem, use Searing Flames to remove the boon. And Scruffy even helps.
I am not a very good player and currently play on a crappy laptop at lowest graphics settings and had no trouble with this mob first time through. It has some mechanics that can be challenging if not encountered before, but every GW2 player should be able (and willing) to adapt to them. Instead of complaining about things like this, I have found that accepting them as challenges and learning to beat them make me a better player. Do people expect to just wander through all content, press random buttons to win, and collect the loot? What would be the point of that?
I am finding the wolf’s leap attack absolutely impossible to dodge. I even get the Evaded sign but still take total damage.
Here’s a solo video I did of the instance, also showing Nary A Pitfall, where you don’t have to fight anything at all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iukojWb7Xvs&index=1&list=PL-TrRfEK5FsBqJxlMntIDyrtAo8WSx72x
If you choose to fight the Wolf after all, make sure to bring some sort of boon removal. Every class has access to it by Sigil, but even Guardians can trait for Adept Radiance Trait Searing Flames (V) – “When you apply burning to a foe, remove a boon.”
Combo it with Judge’s Intervention or F1-Justice to instantly remove the retaliation, which caused 80% of the damage done to me when I fought it. For the wolf itself, it doesn’t attack quickly, so rotate your blinds and your blocks (bring a focus with your sword) to dispatch of it, and when you’re in danger of dying, jump down a cliff to buy yourself time.
Hi, I seem not to be able to get to the waypoint. I am stuck at dry top in the Prospect Valley. Where should I go?

Did you do Episode 2? Been seeing people ask this question a lot lately. So I’m guessing a large amount have missed that episode and it makes it not so obvious.
There is a open house on the right side of the Town of Prosperity, go down the stairs and through the basement and it brings you to the second area. Then just make your way through the rest of the desert to where you need to go.
It’s the house door nearest the well, west side of town. One time I saw it shut but just walked through it like one of those fake rocks in Sharksmaw in LA.
Use the ledges and ranged weapons. AI is stupid as hell. If you jump off and on and your timig is right – easy. But long, yeah. I know “adopt” isn’t a good word for casual oriented game but as we see the game isn’t so much “casual” at the end of the day. Since any class can use ranged and even a very decent weapon costs a couple of gold – feel free.
