Every event has had a back item unlock and weapon skin unlocks. My character only has one back, and two hands.

He also has a head, arms, legs, feet, shoulders, ears, a neck, etc.

Can we get armor skins, or just more accessories. Perhaps a toy for our casual wear mode?

Some more creative hats and hair pieces would be nice. The kind where you can see your hair.

Creating good looking armor is too hard for them.

You have gotten what you paid for, all that remains is biweekly gemshop pushing.

A backpiece or weapon skin is one skin. Armour needs to be done differently for, at minimum, each race and gender: that’s 10 skins. That’s for each piece of armour, so 60 for a full set. Multiply that by 3 if the armour is going to be different for each class of armour (heavy, medium, light).

Armour also needs to be able to be dyed, which weapons and backpieces don’t.

As mentioned, armor is much more time-consuming to create than weapons and back items (though I don’t agree that they make it per-race, Charr armor fits proves they don’t really do much if any racial adjustment, its still 6 pieces of armor x2 for genders, as well as requiring dye channels and making sure the pieces fit somewhat with other armor sets, and in most cases also requiring a different set for each weight class), so they’re always going to be less common. You’ll probably never see a full set of armor as an event item, at most you’ll get single pieces.

they could give armor pieces even skins we could already make for prizes for completing ls parts. they could give us another alternate way to getting ascended armor. it would be slow take ya six updates to get all pieces of ascended gear maybe more if you dont do all the ls parts

Indeed. They make backs and weapons because it is easier to do than armor. However, they didn’t have to create complete armor sets. They could just make parts that look good by itself and the players will mix and match them by themselves.

But, as i said before, the skin system is crap anyway so in the end it doesn’t really matters.

Fused Gauntlets
Dragon Helm
Scarlet Invsasion 1/2 Shoulder piece (Looks Awesome with the Rose Back!!)
radiant Shoulders, Helm, Gloves
Hellfire shoulders, helm, gloves

No more excuses on this front, Plenty of Armor skins are showing up, just more weapon/back when compared to armor. BUT all the armor is race/armor-class generic.

To be fair, while I don’t personally use all the back skins, they all looked very cool. Most are of the variety ‘not-my-taste-but-still-awesome’.

Added benefit is that you’d only need to make one and it would be usable by all characters.

If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.

No offense but I hope there aren’t more gamers like you in this game. Those are pieces of armor and not full sets. How can you call that plenty? How would people react if each update they’d only choose 1 weapon to give a new skin. They’d be as unhappy as we who just get a single piece of armorskin.

I understand that it takes them a lot of time to make them (and when they do they mostly look ugly) but at least for events that return like Halloween they could make some armor seeing as how they had a year to make them.

Another reason why lots of new weapons have been showing up is that they obviously wanted to pump out ascended-level weapons so they could rectify the “legendary weapon stat change” issue as soon as possible. Think about it from a “business/developer team/cleaning up game mechanics” perspective:

Ascended trinkets appeared → massive uproar/outcry against the gear grind → awareness that legendaries only have exotic stats → fear that ascended weapons will be higher stats than legendaries → ANET scrambling to assure the public this won’t be the case → finalized and released ascended weapon stats → adjust legendary stats now that ascended weapon stats were finalized → months of rumors and complaints now answered → move on to next big game mechanic flaw

They didn’t have to worry at all about armor because we have no legendary armor pieces that players worried were becoming obsolete. Now that it’s been announced that ascended gear will be the absolute final tier of stat level jump, I think we can see more armor skins popping out once they release ascended armor sets. The backpacks however imho are just lazy extras they push out (there are maybe two I personally think are “ok”).

Wisdom through suffering.
