Cleric event in Bloodstone Fen
I had the impression that scaling was a bit off on that event. I succeeded on it once last night, with maybe 5 players involved total. We didn’t have a lot of seekers spawn, and were able to kill most of them quickly. The shield dropped down nice and quick.
The rest of the time, there would be 15+ players at the event, many of them obviously incapable of even reading the event text and doing a lot of random things. Seekers would spawn left, right, and center, and rarely would one go down. It was near impossible to get the shield down then.
I’m not yet 100% if it’s really the scaling that’s the problem (more players → more seekers → more shield healing), or just s question of people learning what to do in this event, but scaling the strength and defenses of the seekers rather than the amount of them might make this event more doable for the masses.
Most of the time, I’ve seen people not throwing the shards at the cleric, or running around chasing the seeker, which is a bit futile unless you have ranged weapon, pulls, or mass CC.
Succeeded 2 out of 4 attempts yesterday, but yeah it seems this is easier with fewer people that knows what they’re doing.
The scaling is wildly off, the seekers spawn faster than you can kill them.
It seem that the main valid tactics is to ignore the seekers completely, and just run around throwing shards, or denying them to seekers. Consuming, or picking and dropping shards works, no shards means no shield healing.
It’s just not possible in bigger groups unless everyone is on it.

It probably doesn’t help that some people are just around trying to do the Mantle Pieces achievement …
On the other hand is there any reason to care about succeeding in that event? I guess it gets you to the next part a few minutes faster but otherwise it is easy to burn down the cleric afterwards anyway.
I’ve only succeeded solo :/ Get one more person involved and it’s MUCH tougher.
Camp the shard spawns and spam pickup to delete them, denying the NPCs from gathering them. I doubt the scaling matters as long as there’s enough people to camp all the spawns.

You don’t. As long as seekers cannot replenish shield, it will keep decreasing over time. Besides, you can throw the last shard at cleric, there’s usually enough time before shards reappear in the same spot.
You do need people to camp all the spots, though, and with big zergs you need several people per spot (because the shards will appear in greater numbers and will cover greater area). Scaling does matter here.

Scaling is definitely broken/poorly tuned. I hit the event solo and zero seekers spawned. Tossed a couple shards, but the shield just ticked right on down. Two more people showed up near 40% power and still no seekers spawned.
Also been at events with ten people or so, and it is an impossible stream of constant lvl82+ runners.
I was doing this by myself yesterday, and there were only 3 seekers making my life hard.
Then 2 other players appeared in the zone and BOOM, there spawned like 12 more seekers, and everything went downhill in just a couple of seconds. It was still fun to lose that way.

i had a similar issue today and the event failed, he then ran off but i was able to chase him down and kill him as the shield and seekers had gone and he was just like a normal vet and it counted for the story.

Same for me, really. It was somewhat anticlimatic.

The scaling for the event is really weird. I was able to succeed in breaking the shield by myself once because i was lucky enough to find the event when no one was around. There were only 3 seekers to deal with. I killed two and left one alive. But later on, i tried the event with 3 other people and the seekers just overwhelmed the event. There was no way to break the shield fast enough.
I’m gonna chip in with an agreement here, the scaling is way over amplified. I completed the event by myself on my thief when the Cleric was in the rocky area closer to the crater, but every time there have been other people around (or the location is near the camp with Squad Leader Bennett) the seekers just explode.
I’m glad to have read this thread though, I’ll try camping one of the shard points and “disposing” of them by picking them all up the next time I need to do it on a character that has few CCs slotted.
