Clueless items
Actually, the items say to double click them to find out more. If you do, it shows you where on the map to take them to charge them. After that, the Mystic Forge recipes are on the item tooltip. I see nothing wrong with how this was done. All you need to do is use your brain.
My double click did not do anything. My brain was fine thank you.

You have to be in the open world. Double-clicking it doesn’t work if you’re still in an instance.
Ok so we’ve got a silly glitch here that the double click items don’t work. We’ve still got an issue that the recipe is given to us back to front. People can still waste time progressing something they will later find out they will not complete. However it is possible to track it all in game? Good.
I’m not sure what back to front is even technically supposed to mean. Would you rather they just give you them all at the end or what? Perhaps provide an alternative method for acquiring them? I don’t see a problem with the way they did it. Sure, it might be nice if you could use them in the instance, but the second you get out in the open world it works.
Even if people can’t use it in the instance, it says “double-click to show”. I would assume a logical player would exit the instance and be like “Hm. Maybe it’s the instance? Eh, might as well give it a shot.” but then maybe that’s just what I’d do, because I’m that kind of person.
And to be honest, the only problem is the fact they can’t be double clicked in an instance. Remove that problem and your back to front issue makes no sense, since like a previous poster said, it says everything right in the tooltip.
I’d also like to add that you can’t use the “click to show” function in most instances anyway. You know those in-game letters which have the “show” button at the bottom? Those don’t work in instances either. I assume it uses the same code or function or whatever, hence it being unusable in an instance.
Yes it is back to front. You’re given a stone, told you can go somewhere else to make into a different stone(without knowing why you would want the different stone), find out later the different stone can be put into a forge to make another component, and you still don’t know what is all making (unless you read a web spoiler).

Saying “Yes it is back to front” doesn’t answer my question, it merely re-states what you’ve obviously already said, which I’ve already said I don’t understand the wording. As for not knowing why you would want a different thing… I don’t know? For the fun of it? Who knows. Maybe it’s something you’d like.
It’s not hard to look things up on the internet anyhow if you’re really that curious. If you can’t do a simple google or wiki search, then, hey, your loss.
You shouldn’t have to do a google search to find out what four items given to you on the central story are for! You shouldn’t have to run around half of Tyria before you find out they make something you don’t want, either. As for back to front …

It’s for crafting your back piece. Check out: Dulfy
I thought it was a great mechanic! I loved the savanger hunt idea. I didn’t know what it was going to be until AFTER I upgraded them, and saw the website. But thats what makes it interesting. I almost wish I hadn’t looked at Dulfy to see what it was supposed to be.
