As people pointed before, that drawing in Scarlets’ room – and then what shows in the last cut scene – reminds a lot the Realm of Torment map from Guild Wars, but as we read in the journal, the orbs are representing the elder dragons.
I watched carefully the cinematic again and it seems Mordremoth is the orb in the left-center.
In the Realm of Torment map, that orb represents the zone Gate of Pain

If this is just a coincidence by Anet reusing drawing designs I would say is really a clumsy one Oo….
Otherwise, the connection is getting intriguing since Scarlet was reading about Varesh, who spawned the Vortex to the Realm of Torment in Elona.
Since the Realm of Torment is an area similar to The Mists, “astral” alike, only thing I could guess from it all is, are the dragons’ consciousness inside the Realm while they are asleep ?
The Pale Tree in the middle of all of them only make sense to me because she has also an “astral” alike aspect, The Dream, which, like the Vortex, can bring entities/beings out of it to Tyria’s common dimension. The sylvari’s consciousness are drag from The Dream and then they awake, instead of getting born.
I wonder now if the dragon wants to kill/absorb the Pale Tree because she stole his minions and is, by his point of view, corrupted by Ventari, or, at the same time, he wants to use the Pale Tree as a new Vortex to bring something out of it?
(some people believe the sylvari are supposed to be Mordy’s equivalent to a risen army of Zaithan, tough I don’t know if this is confirmed)
The dragon seems already awake but, what is within the Gate of Pain then to come out? Or… does it have any relevance?
ps.:
I’ve seen theories around about Menzies trying to control Modremoth, since it is believed he is somewhere inside the Realm of Torment during Guild Wars. So my bet would be, he is inside the Gate of Pain and wants to come out to Tyria. The dragon would open the gates for him killing the Pale Tree.
