Something worth noting here with worrying concern is that with the removal of the Ghosts the ironic last real defense that the Ascalonian Humans have against the Charr is all but gone.

Not only that, but Mordremoths vines are extending southward from Iron Marches which will eventually mean they will head somewhere down coast.

Could this mean there will be an assault on Ebonhawke and thus the annihilation of the Ascalonian Race as we know it?

It certainly seems like a rather grim prospect for Ascalon.

There’s still the other elder dragons, the flame legion and numerous other unknown threats that will turn up. I don’t think the Charr are going to rock the boat at the moment and risk upsetting the rather precarious balance Tyria (nearly called the world Thedas… shows where my mind is) has going.

The treaty between the Charr and Humans is still in place, having no ghosts in Ascalon doesn’t change that. The treaty was in place because the dragons were a threat, not the ghosts. The ghosts are just an annoyance for the Charr, it doesn’t really have anything to do with Ebonhawke, except maybe from a morale standpoint.

Well we know the writers like to demolish any lore from GW1 at any opportunity, so I don’t see it as too far fetched that they would just destroy all of Ascalon and call it a day.

Oh really?

Also, no, if the ghosts were to be dealt with and gone forever, the Charr wouldn’t just suddenly turn against Ebonhawke and attack it. There is a thing called “Peace treaty” between the Charr and humans now.

Even if they did, there is the Ascalon settlement in Kryta.
