I was attempting this achievement with the help of others using blast finisher heals. I was in the quicksand without downing for much longer than 15 seconds. The others around me got the achievement.

I definitely do not have the achievement yet.

Has anyone had trouble with this? I’m a guardian, does using Renewed Focus discount you for the achievement?

I got it first time using Virtue of Resolve, Hold the Line, and Signet of Resolve. Renewed Focus doesn’t discount the achievement, but neither does it help. Just don’t use all three of the aforementioned skills at once and you should be ok.

When I initially tried it, I sat at the edge (close to the fence) of the quicksand but it didn’t seem to work. I then tried the “keep jumping” technique and that didn’t click either. On my third try, I went further out into the quicksand and just stood in it without jumping. There was a small group of random people and we all provided the AOE heals as each of us tried it.

I got it on my third try.

Yeah I realised Renewed Focus did nothing, I was just wondering if by using it the whole “invulnerable” thing might have discounted it (even though the invulnerability doesn’t work).

I was close to the fence my first go, went further out on my second and third go. I will try again with your suggestions.

This is my first time trying, I had no idea what was the best option. I have Renewed Focus on my hotbar already so I just tried it to see if it gave me invulnerability.

I got it by moving further into the sand.

Got it first try on my guardian, equipped in usual mix of soldier, knight, cavalier, cleric, even some berserker. Jumped into quicksand just by edge, wasn’t very deep in.
Popped Signet of Resolve when I got low, then utilities 1-3 for minor heals and virtues, followed by Renewed Focus and again virtues. Ding, achievement, dong, downed & dead

Someone mentioned that jumping resets the timer so be careful to stay in the whole time.

I already said I got it. I just needed to walk further in.

With Tome of Courage and my heals I got it easy. No need to switch out of zerk gear or anything.

You get a debuff that counts down while damaging you. That debuff needs to go all the way to 23:59:45 for you to get the achievement.

Jumping out of the sand, and getting to close to the edge both reset the timer. You need to make sure you are in over your head and that you don’t jump.

Interestingly enough, My necromancer got it with several tries.

As In, when I finally noticed the whole achievement for it, and went into the quicksand, I got it within a few seconds (Literally). Earlier I had run through the quicksand several times by accident.

guardian is soo op for this achievement. and you can even help your friends getting it with tome of courage 5 and 1.
