Will the Crown Pavillon ever come back? I want the opportunity to earn sovereign weapon skins, the lyssa backpiece recipe and a shot at the Liadri miniature.
There were a few hints that the crown pavillon might reopen this month, sadly I got disappointed

I really hope so, I don’t even care about the rewards it was just a very fun screw around map. Decent fights for solo play, and then the different bosses were interesting for at least the first 50 times I did them, and given the time I’d probably find them interesting again. Sort of like SW which I still pop into once in a while just to fight a certain boss for fun, but without the long wait until I get to them.

I would love to see it return some day.

I would also love to see the Crown Pavillon back. It has been a long time since it was reopened. This anniversary patch was a disappointment to me so far.

The problem was, people loved it the first time. But it was generating too much loot, so they completely cut ALL loot, making it a ghost-slamming event. People felt unrewarded and started shaming the pit.
Anet should’ve just lowered the loot, not completely remove it.

I thought it was very successful on organised maps where you farmed the gold chests 24/7.

Yeah, I remember farming for a bit then having stacks of various types of bags that took me over an hour to open and salvage.

Anet I will buy a bonus 100€ worth of gems if you bring back Crown Pavillon and the opportunity to earn the liadri mini.

Only Anet knows. I think it is a waste to not use this kind of content as fillers during content draughts. It would give many people something to do.

I’m pretty sure they have said that it’s not as simple as “turning on|off” the existing content. Adjustments have to be made to take into account mechanics and skill|trait changes. (Plus there are probably economic considerations.)

That said, if they can set up Wintersday & Halloween to rerun annually, why not add a few more, so that we can pretend that the content droughts are shorter.

I am aware that they probably need to change some stuff, but it should be easier than creating completly new content. The content is there, the rewards are there. It just needs to be adjusted to work for the current game build.
And the demand for this also seems to be there considering how often people ask for old festival content to reappear. The OP even promised Anet to buy 100€ of additional gems if they bring it back.

Anet apparently changed their attitude looking at AB Multi-loot.

I’d love for the CP to be a yearly deal, probably for Summer. We dont’ really have any events going on in the summer, so why not make it the Summer event? A heated brawl with deadly adversaries for the enjoyment of the warriors throughout Tyria! This of course would mean a return of the evil…LIADRI!

If by “easier than creating completely new content” you mean that there are less things that need to be created from scratch, I’m sure that’s true. If you mean actual effort, then, no, that might not be the case. Sometimes with software, no matter how well documented, it’s really difficult for people unfamiliar with the design/goals to take it over and sometimes it’s easier to start over entirely.

I don’t like being in the position of explaining ANet’s point of view, because I don’t really care why they haven’t made the Crown Pavilion annual. I want them to instead realize that they still aren’t offering anything close to the amount of content that we got used to during LS1. Setting up 2-3 more annual events would be a great way of tiding us over during these longer gaps.

So bring back the Pavilion if it’s easy to do so. And if it’s not, then set up Wintersday in July or the Mad King’s Revenge or invent something completely new.

The problem for me is that the Living World isn’t really very alive for me any longer, when there are entire months without anything changing and and other months with only the smallest incremental changes. The Seis/Sensor events were fun, but they don’t even qualify as an appetizer: 30 minutes of scavenger-hunting added 5 times over a month = less than 3 hours of new stuff.

Yes, I think the living world is dead or at least only exists if you view the game in a time lapse. But that is something I can live with, until AIs can create and improve games, it will never be possible to make enough content for everyone (while also being profitable, maybe if Anet would hire thousands of additional devs it could work).

But other than liking the crown pavillon and its rewards, I also have a special reason to want it back. It is impossible to be #1 of AP in the long run if you do not have all historic achievements and Liadri with 8 orbs happens to be the only one I miss. First time it was around I was too bad to get it and 2nd time I focussed on playing Wildstar since I assumed this would be a yearly event anyway. I guess it was my fault for putting too much trust into Anet. They specifically said that Queen’s Gauntlet would be a recurring event with Liadri coming back every time.

For permanent achievements I only have 3 things left to do: 250k WvW kills, 5/10k pvp wins and sclerite weapon collection left

I fear the earliest we may see her back is August 2017 if at all
I wish the queen could find more reasons to open the crown pavillon. Why did she invest so much money into her pavillon if she only makes use of it every few years. The taxpayers should be in uproar.

I am loosing hope about Crown Pavillon returning after finding out that Halloween gets reduced in content each year.

I am indifferent to the Pavilion returning, but the Gauntlet part of it I think should def return. It is unique and i teresting as opposed to the zergfest downstairs, which the game already had plenty of options for.

I can only hope it comes back next year now that 2016 is almost over and all chances to reopen the Crown Pavillon got skipped for over 2 years now.
If Anet does not intend to ever bringing it back it would be great if they would say so, so I do not have to get my hopes up for it at every remotely fitting opportunity.

The tax payers of Divinity Reach should start a riot that so much gold was wasted on building this large structure taking up 1/7 of the whole city and only has been used twice in several years.
