Q:
Can someone explain to me why when you die within the puzzle area, there is no restart back from checkpoint button of any sort?
Edit: I should be a bit more clear with this JP as it is a special case:
There are three checkpoints during the whole JP which you activate by jumping into the springs pool. Jumping into them (first one you jump into) gives you a new button above your 1-5 skills to restart back from checkpoint.
So, if you mess up the vine jump or anything just press that button and you are back at the last springs pool you jumped in before.

Because Josh didn’t design it that way for this JP?
Very few jumping puzzles have that.

Only one does, I think.
Er, what the hell? The Draconis Mons JP has a checkpoint system.

Heh, had me scratching my head, too.
You folk jumping in the pools of water on your way up?
I don’t think the OP said there wasn’t a checkpoint system, but rather no ‘button’ to use it in some particular area.
To be more clear there are three checkpoints during the whole JP which you activate by jumping into the springs pool. Jumping into them (first one you jump into) gives you a new button above your 1-5 skills to restart back from checkpoint.

My whole issue is that once you are dead, by either falling to your death because the hero ‘bonked’ his head against the ceiling of the cave and the animation got stuck in the ‘rolling’ state unable to open glide or do anything while falling to death (not sure if this is a bug or not) or random bolt of lightning that hits you while gliding at certain points causing you to fall to death, losing that skill… Keep in mind, I never died outside of puzzle area.
Now, if you do try and “leave the instance” or “puzzle area” to be more exact, it will warn you as such and that the ‘restart skill’ will be removed. So attempting to respawn at a waypoint will force you to lose that skill and all the work is wasted.
I would think from Heart of Thrones maps, those minigames (ie. Tendrils Torchers in verdant brink) does allow you to restart to checkpoint if fully dead (as you are given the same skill pretty much). I figured something like that would carry over in here…?
So would this be a bug/oversight by devs or intentional… to force you to use revive orb or have a buddy system? Or some other reason I’m not seeing…
