Here is to the hope that these thousands of bloodstone dust, dragonite ore, Emperyal fragments, and blade shards I have stored in my vault will find a happy home with some lucky zepharite.

I guess it will be highly likely that you will be able to trade in your blade shards but dont get your hopes up for ascended mats. If they introduce a sink for ascended mats, it will most likely involve ascended crafting because that is its intended use and Anet wants you to level your crafting to 500.
