Explain new achievement system?
I actually find the rewards to be very good and I joined some guild mates on their first try to get my own achievements. It was actually very social.
I do think that maybe the dialogue should be skip-able after the first time completing the story though. Would really make things easier when doing achievements.

After completing the story and then wondering around site seeing the new zone, I carefully looked through the achievements both the zone ones and the living story ones. Even through I have over 12,000 achievement points I am not a achievement hunter, just usually do them for the rewards/title/skin etc…
But there appear to be no rewards other than more sand/geodes/ascended materials which don’t interest me. So thought it pointless doing any of the achievements.
I just wish you could do the achievements the first time through, and skip instances to just try for the achievements. I actually earnt most of the achievements the first time, but I didn’t “unlock” the achievements until after I beat it.
The rewards are good, and I like the fact that the achievements are here to stay permanently so people can complete them when they wish.
But I DO agree that having them locked out until you complete the entire story once is very annoying. (Not to mention that it’s character specific! Even after unlocking the achievements on my Mesmer, I can’t do the story on my Warrior and try for the achievements then. I have to do it ALL OVER AGAIN on my Warrior!) It smacks of “busywork”, of forcing players to do extra grind before they can get to the good stuff. It’s not a good feeling, ANet, and I hope you’ll look at changing this for future chapters.
