Hello,
First let me say this is a great start to season 2. So great job so far.
Now sadly there is one part about the living story that has been bugging me since around toxic tower. Dialogue. There is SOOO MUCCHHHH potential here for great dialogue, but you guys aren’t taking advantage on it. I will try say the dialogue instances that I have a problem with. Now I’m not saying they have no bad dialogue. These are just the instances where I get annoyed.
1. Kasmeer/Majory. Both of these characters have very mysterious/interesting background stories. Great voice overs. Great powers. I do not want to hear about their relationship. I don’t play Gw2 to listen to npcs talk about relationship problems. Don’t me wrong. I understand you’re trying to push the whole lesbian thing. However, they discuss it at the worst times. I mean Zephyrites are everywhere dieing, their ship is on fire, multiple people reported missing, inquest killing/capturing, etc. Then they talk about how they worry about each other and they’re sorry. I just want to yell at them that this is not the time. If you want to expand on Kasmeer’s and Majory’s relationship, do it after the action has stopped. For example all the ooshy goosh and relationship stuff we heard about in ch1 of season 2. I would have loved if that was excluded from the main stuff and put into an optional story instance in the bar at prosperity. If you feel the need to put it in you can, but honestly in this chapter it was just too much. I’d rather have it be optional rather than be forced to listen to it. It also makes me want to ignore them everytime to speak, even if they have interesting lore stuff. I mean both of these characters have a ton of depth and you seem to concentrate way too much on their relationship. I like seeing their characters expand in their relationship and see it grow, but you’re pushing it in my face a bit too hard. It’s getting on the verge of being annoying.
2. Braham and taimi. This relationship I like. It makes me laugh. You dont push it in my face all the time. I would like to see more Dialogue from Braham though (that doesn’t relate to Taimi). I mean he just doesn’t seem to have any depth. Everytime he speaks its like listening to someone commentating on a gameplay video. I still have a tough time knowing what type of person he is. I think you’re trying to go for the tough guy on the outside, but an emotional guy on the inside. However I think the tough guy needs a bit more…air time. We see him being emotional a lot lately. Everytime he speaks now it’s something emotional about his and taimi’s relationship or his and Rox’s relationship. Like for this chatper (gates of maguuma) he barely got any lines. Each time he talked it was sarcastic/dumb sounding. I understand he isn’t a genius, but I wan’t to see the tough guy side of him. He’s a norn warrior. People ridiculed him in Craigstead thinking he will atone for nothing. His mom doesn’t seem to care about him. I want to see the Braham who takes matters into his own hands, whose a kitten in battle. Who is done being a coward. Not comedic relief with Taimi and occasionally Rox.
3. Rox. Rox is like Braham. I just dont feel she has too much depth. She’s become just another source of commentary like Braham. Her and Braham just point out to us what’s going on and point out lore stuff. I’d like to see her come more into her own. She wanted to join this warband so badly, but decided not too. What happened to that drive? That fire? It just doesn’t go away, she should be applying it to something else. I can easily see Rox coming into the role of the leader of this band of heroes. Someone who keeps the team together, driven, motivated, and strong. She just doesn’t seem to be doing that.
