Hello,

First let me say this is a great start to season 2. So great job so far.

Now sadly there is one part about the living story that has been bugging me since around toxic tower. Dialogue. There is SOOO MUCCHHHH potential here for great dialogue, but you guys aren’t taking advantage on it. I will try say the dialogue instances that I have a problem with. Now I’m not saying they have no bad dialogue. These are just the instances where I get annoyed.

1. Kasmeer/Majory. Both of these characters have very mysterious/interesting background stories. Great voice overs. Great powers. I do not want to hear about their relationship. I don’t play Gw2 to listen to npcs talk about relationship problems. Don’t me wrong. I understand you’re trying to push the whole lesbian thing. However, they discuss it at the worst times. I mean Zephyrites are everywhere dieing, their ship is on fire, multiple people reported missing, inquest killing/capturing, etc. Then they talk about how they worry about each other and they’re sorry. I just want to yell at them that this is not the time. If you want to expand on Kasmeer’s and Majory’s relationship, do it after the action has stopped. For example all the ooshy goosh and relationship stuff we heard about in ch1 of season 2. I would have loved if that was excluded from the main stuff and put into an optional story instance in the bar at prosperity. If you feel the need to put it in you can, but honestly in this chapter it was just too much. I’d rather have it be optional rather than be forced to listen to it. It also makes me want to ignore them everytime to speak, even if they have interesting lore stuff. I mean both of these characters have a ton of depth and you seem to concentrate way too much on their relationship. I like seeing their characters expand in their relationship and see it grow, but you’re pushing it in my face a bit too hard. It’s getting on the verge of being annoying.

2. Braham and taimi. This relationship I like. It makes me laugh. You dont push it in my face all the time. I would like to see more Dialogue from Braham though (that doesn’t relate to Taimi). I mean he just doesn’t seem to have any depth. Everytime he speaks its like listening to someone commentating on a gameplay video. I still have a tough time knowing what type of person he is. I think you’re trying to go for the tough guy on the outside, but an emotional guy on the inside. However I think the tough guy needs a bit more…air time. We see him being emotional a lot lately. Everytime he speaks now it’s something emotional about his and taimi’s relationship or his and Rox’s relationship. Like for this chatper (gates of maguuma) he barely got any lines. Each time he talked it was sarcastic/dumb sounding. I understand he isn’t a genius, but I wan’t to see the tough guy side of him. He’s a norn warrior. People ridiculed him in Craigstead thinking he will atone for nothing. His mom doesn’t seem to care about him. I want to see the Braham who takes matters into his own hands, whose a kitten in battle. Who is done being a coward. Not comedic relief with Taimi and occasionally Rox.

3. Rox. Rox is like Braham. I just dont feel she has too much depth. She’s become just another source of commentary like Braham. Her and Braham just point out to us what’s going on and point out lore stuff. I’d like to see her come more into her own. She wanted to join this warband so badly, but decided not too. What happened to that drive? That fire? It just doesn’t go away, she should be applying it to something else. I can easily see Rox coming into the role of the leader of this band of heroes. Someone who keeps the team together, driven, motivated, and strong. She just doesn’t seem to be doing that.

4. Taimi. I think Taimin you have really nailed. She is a sarcastic Asura who is basiclly a character version of the lore junkie. She is like Braham and Rox where she is like commentary. However she presents it with more personality and her character has more reason to. Not only being an Asuran, but she is also obsessed with Scarlet. So out of all the characters in the living story, I think Taimi is in the best position dialogue wise. Keep doing what you’re doing with her.

5. Canach and Ellen Kiel- Canach is my favorite hero. We haven’t seen him a lot, but what little we have had to interact with him has left a good impression. He is not some black and white hero. He has motivations. He walks the line between what is good or bad. Like in Southsun. He’s doing all this bad stuff, but the players sympathize with him because of what the consoritum did. I really liked that stuff. Ellen Kiel was more meh. She was your typical goody goody hero. I mean I understand why you wanted a character like that, but I’d love to see more dialogue involving choices. Choices that don’t have a perfect answer. Choices that require sacrificing soemone. Like for example, she has to save one person out of two and can only pick one. Who does she choose? Why? How does this effect her personality onward. That type of stuff.

In Conclusion- I’d like to see less of the love relationship between Majory and Kasmeer being thrown at us in these intense/battle drive instances. You can cover that stuff perhaps in an optional instance where the environment they discuss it in is more appropriate. Braham and Rox feel too much like commentary at the moment. I’d like to see more air time given to them and see their personalities and what makes them unique stand out more/be presented to the players more. They seem too one sided/bland currently. Taimi is great, keep doing what you’re doing with here. Canach being the sort of anti hero/walk the line of good/bad is good. I like that. Ellen Kiel I would like to see more dialogue concerning how to handle situations that don’t always have a perfect/everything is fine outcome.

It’s the mushiness that gets to me – go stand still in Prosperity – more diabetic dialogue between the NPC’s.

Whomever’s writing this stuff, please put down the Twilight Collector’s Edition.

I agree with you. Canach is a very interesting character. I think this is also due to the way the Anet writers haven’t given him much attention. If they did I’m sure they would turn him into some pathetic individual.

I also really like the idea where you have optional instances where Majory and Kasmeer can go on and on and on about their love without it breaking the atmosphere of the game. Or at least give me an option to interrupt them during one of their ‘moments’ – like: “Hey guys shut up for a second and focus on the mission! your mushy dribble is getting annoying!”
