Frost & Flame; What Will Stay?
I having more troubles figuring out was has changed as to opposed to what is missing.
I have no clue how this living story works and it appears to add nothing more than themed dynamic events, I have no clue where this story is or what its about… and every NPC is useless.
That also can be an issue as the first two months really just inched towards the new stuff. Which they explained was on purpose for a reason. Regardless, it just feels like in a month’s time Wayfarer and Diessa locals will not be citing anything Frost & Flame like if it never happened.
Which is a bad way to go about it, as we as players want more content to dig into, if any people left for many different reasons and came back in mid-May, they would feel as if the last three months have had nothing truly added accept maybe a few things in the Black Lion Trading Post.
I would love to see a developer talk about what will stay in some form or manner, assure that Frost & Flame left a mark on Tyria and how it will affect us going forward.
If there are no obvious reference to the events of this past chapter of the living story in the zones that were affected, to me that would be the one reason the living story concept has failed.
Design decisions like loot chances, dungeons or solo content etc can all be forgiven but if the very concept of the living story doesnt include leaving a permanent mark, I consider it a failure.
I hope the steam vents stay at least. Well as well as Cragstead and the Nolani Hatchery, both of which I’d like to be able to explore properly either as instances or new area additions to the maps they are a part of.

That would be a nice little touch or two, with npcs mourning losses and rebuilding? Maybe an event can see players collecting devourer eggs for the hatchery also?
If F+F was to test the living story system, at least test a few ways you can leave behind something memorable for existing and future players to come across.
