Glad Devs chose to focus on Living World
I really doubt that canning legendaries had any visible impact on the speed of release for LS.

It’s hard to know exactly what impact on the game was achieved by cancelling work on 12 legendaries. We don’t know if that freed up artists or QA or coders or story tellers or collection designers or all of the above. We don’t know if those people were re-allocated to working on the existing collections (which suffer from numerous bugs) or on fixing the many problems in gameplay in the HoT maps. Or maybe they all went to work on the second expac or on LS3.
All we can say is: it hasn’t seemed to hurt the rest of the game.
If this LS is garbage then canning legendaries was a huge mistake. This patch is going to keep players or slowing bleed them.
TBH, the devs were going to focus and create living story 3 regardless. Some of them are even working on the second expansion, as said by the anet dev guest host on the recent community showcase.
