How did we get to Ember Bay?
Its all just speculation, but Seis Burnheart did the magitechnical research part that led people to believe something was moving to Rings of Fire, after which Taimi jumped the gun and send a research pary of her own caliber ahead of her. Maybe manipulated that krass Asura who always grumpily watches over Taimi to make him think it was his idea to go there. After that it was just a case of setting up a camp and portal. I assumed that somewhere between ch1 and ch2 they took a zeppelin or something. Its a popular aircraft since LS1 ending.
Its too bad that there was no cinematic.
The one upon arrival to bloodstone fen (and verdant brink) made me breathlessly watch it.
It was such a gripping and terrific work of art and story.
It is too bad there was none on arrival to Ember Bay, on the boat or something.
These cinematics give you a true sence of adventure, as if your character was an explorer.
What suprises me is one thing: Taimi found out about Primorduses activity while the pc was in BF, now ifyou consider it story-wise, he was there for less than 2 days.
How did all that krewe make so many bases of operation and tuned in gates, when its said that it takes a long time to retune them? Let alone, get to the island, secure a zone and man up defences?
Eighter the asura have made huge progress during the past 2 years or i dont know.

That’s a major point right there: First they had to get there – looks like a longer journey. Then they had to find a safe place and set up a portal for us at the same time.
Unfortunately we didn’t get any information on that, we don’t even know how they got there. To the airship theory: are there any working airships they could’ve used? The one in Bloodstone Fen (Pride of the Pact) seems to be damaged and also it’s still floating around there. Don’t know about the Aerodrome.
With no information in the story itself, it’s even more important to hear an official statement from the story department of Arenanet.

No maybe about it:
<Character name>: You already have people in the Fire Islands?Taimi: I have some more, let’s say “trusted associates” there setting up a gate scouting.
Taimi: But Phlunt really organized the whole operation. Primordus’s movement was something I purposely let slip.
Taimi: It’s good because it keeps him out of my ears for a little while, and it also makes him feel like a big shot.
<Character name>: Only sixteen years old and you’re puppet-mastering one of your superiors…
<Character name>: Admirable and a little unsettling, Taimi.
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

I, no, we rest our case. Scenario explained!

You can assume there are many in the world than the ones used in the attack, plus more have likely been produced in the year following the initial assault. Working under Phlunt, thus having the backings of the Arcane Council, you can assume the forward party had a lot to work with. They could have also arrived by ship, which was how Southsun was set up, or they could have used something more asuran, like the various unstable teleporters that have been shown off in the story. It doesn’t really matter how.

While they are many possible ways, it would have been nice if they showed it to us in the story. You can’t just say: “Oh we’re suddenly 1000 miles away from home now, deal with it”.
There are people who do care about the story and it’s hard to identify with the characters and their situation if they’re randomly ported into different areas without further explanation.
PCs didn’t travel there by any means other than the portal. Only NPCs did. I don’t know how often the story shows us how others travel (when we aren’t partaking of the actual travel).
I suppose it’s possible the Asura had a gate in the depths in the vicinity as well. That would certainly make sense given the nature of that area and the bloodstone.
It’s not like there aren’t destroyers everywhere anyway.
Rata Sum isn’t too far from the RoF, so they could have sailed from the docks, especially now the Risen threat in the nearby seas is all but gone
