This is one of the things that I sort of struggle with. Is this the actual location of Omadd’s lab? From the remains scattered it feels as though Scarlet moved all of Omadd’s things to this location? She had her steamcreatures apparently move everything…

Or did she and Omadd both move to this location?

It’s somewhat weird, because the ‘story’ tells that Omadd found her with the frogs, after she was expelled due to inquest troubles. Her recordings how ever, seem to lack a timestamp…

After she goes into the machine she makes but a few recordings, one of which is at some point ‘she doesn’t need her steam critters anymore’. Was that after she moved Omadd’s machine to the Ley line hub? … In the story Taimy mentions that not all the parts look of the same age, and that she ‘thus’ has made alterations (well we see one original piece in the desert somewhere, so she must have at least replaced that).

So why rebuild something if you are not inclined to use the machine again? and again? and again?

i think the machine was built there. the ley line hub is a critical part for it working, according to dialogue, and it makes sense that something so big (and dangerous) and yet unknown to everyone would be built “off the grid”.

plus, it seems no charges were pressed against her for killing her mentor, which only makes sense if no one found his body to begin with.

There’s a bit where it says that the machine is one of the things she needed to use a portal to move, I think you get it when you examine the right object. May be after you do the story mission, and explore the cave in the open world.

Where is the body then? Why the mention of ‘newer parts’, it sure wasn’t Omadd working on the machine anymore… Though sure, he could have made the alterations as he went on, hoping that with the alterations his ‘subjects’ wouldn’t go as crazy as the last one…

But also, it seems as though Scarlet had her Steam Creatures move the Machine, at least I think that is what the lost piece, and the broken down steam creatures are supposed to represent. Why move it, if in fact, the machine was already there? (as Omadd tested the machine a couple of times already, prior to Scarlet).

Obviously it might just mean that Scarlet used the Steam creatures to move the Newer Components as Omadd made alterations to his machine, prior to Scarlet using it… guess that could work…

Still though, make you wonder, well make me wonder anyways…

Also because Scarlet found the Ley Line Hub due to mention of the Miner, I think, and no one in the village ever said anything about an Asura being with her? Hmmm. or was there… Beginning to doubt now, didn’t one of them mention an Asura? Well, most are dead now, so no way to ask them again.

no one asked about an asura, we just kept asking if they’d seen sylvaris around. the body could’ve gone anywhere, really. there’s enough wildlife in the area to make it trivial that the body isn’t there anymore.

and nothing says scarlet couldn’t have used the steam creatures to help transporting the stuff. with or without omadd, there’s still a lot of materials that needed to be moved from A to B.

Well the part you find in the desert is clearly A part of the machine, and stranded steam creature was likely carrying it. She didn’t make calculations (see the piece of paper in the ley line hub) to see if these things could carry her groceries.

Feels like another Mass Effect 1 reference. On Noveria suspicions arose when a Matriarch was roaming through carrying vast amount of supplies. Turned out those supplies were housing geth. While it’s not exactly the same we do see scattered parts, a Sylvari (Scarlet) was said to have been through there and mentions of mechanical beasts (Steam creatures) plus some of their remains.

I’m willing to let myself assume Scarlet moved the equipment there once she realized a Ley Line hub was somewhere deep within. Her visit to Prosperity could have likely been just after she killed Omadd and wanted to learn more, prior to amassing the forces necessary which would later be used to sack Lion’s Arch.
