Hunger Royale more fun than Southsun Survivor
it was also the ONLY thing happening in the whole game at the time.
that might account for a few of the differences.

Personally I dislike the part where you turn into mist. I feel they put that in just so you don’t feel disappointed when you die quickly. It doesn’t help though.
I hate the searching and waiting for the last few survivors to drop. I hate there is so little blue orbs … a spectator mode would’ve been better than mist form.
ALSO … the game doesn’t reward you for staying alive, but for killing other people. One game I was 2nd last survivor and the score put me on 8th or 9th place.
I really dislike being 1-shotted from full health.
Combat just comes down to who pushed their button first. If Survivor used Aspect Arena’s combat system it would be a lot more fun.

Just press that V button on your keyboard. You aren’t even trying.

So you hate waiting for the last survivors to die…………..but you hate that the point system encourages you to be aggressive, thus speeding up the game?

You mean the one shot that has a massive wind up time?
I mostly won the games by not killing everyone, but to simply do the opposite: Staying alive and avoid confrontation. Gather as many rations as possible and then hide, waiting out until the storm is over. Like a true survivor. :P

Which is basically the main way to win this game, though it baffles me how anyone finds this even slightly fun, there’s so little skill involved in this as well that it’s actually mind blowing into trying to comprehend just what Anet was thinking when they designed this game mode, what gets me is the fact that this crap has been out before the game even fully released and it’s still horrible.
Gathering rations and hiding only works if you’re lucky enough not to get ganked immediately after grace period is over AND you happen to get a lot of rations. I’ve had rounds where I had 6 arrows and no rations whatsoever.
they made the map to big tbh.

The massive wind up time that isn’t even visible on asuran models?

The enemy suddenly standing perfectly still isn’t a dead give away?
I really hate this mode too. Hunger Royale was way better because it was team based, meaning that even if I died, I was still helping the team towards victory. I’ve wond Survival a few times, but it was rarely fun. Here’s a solid strategy for you guys to try, since I never plan to play anymore.
1. During the grace period, slaughter at will. Just go nuts with it. Try to acquire at least 4+ rations, but you might be able to make do with 3.
2. When the grace period ends (and death is permanent), NEVER kill anyone that you can avoid. They will become ghosts and likely start messing with you, making it much harder to survive.
3. Once you have at least a few spare rations, head along the eastern coast towards where the jump puzzle is, collecting rations from plants as you go. Once you have your four, there is a rocky outcropping on the cliffs about halfway between the starting area and the jumping puzzle. Go around the back side of this outcrop and there will be a tiny cave, a hole just big enough to hop into facing out towards the sea.
4. Just stay there and ration out your rations. The DoT accelerates over time, but you’re generally safe activating them around 100-150 health remaining. Hopefully you’ll have more rations than anyone left, and/or they kill each other off.
Every time I’ve done this I’ve been last man standing, except one time I killed a guy after the grace period and he spawned a Karka on my head.
Still, I sometimes do loose on points, since points are all based on kills, which is the other dumb thing about this game. Instead of awarding a 50 point bonus for 1st, then nothing for anyone else, it should be a solid point bonus for every minute survived, so that players who do nothing but survive and make it to 3rd place would beat out players who die within the first few minutes. Kills could count some, giving late diers time to come back on revenge kills or something, but the bulk of the points would be time based.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”
The only thing i dont like are the mist walkers, the other things are fine.
Actually no, theres one more thing. I dont like how people just grab 10 rations in teh firs tminute of the game and camp it out.
They should limit rations to 3 maximum, but make more passifloras near camps. Atleast we would see some action isntead of people sittin’ in a tree.
Oh, they should remove mist walkers and just add spectator mode like with real pvp.

They both have their issues. I think revenge motes are too scarce and the scoring system is really bad. It’s also disappointing that you can swim to the other side of the island and hide until everyone starves. The scoring system needs a serious rework, it rewards being a ghost and dropping alarm traps more than it rewards aggressively killing players. The mote scarcity is also pretty lame when only two survivors are left and no-one scavenges anything.
Like almost every mini game, the experience dramatically varies based on your allies. Sometimes you get an aggressive group that will stay around the supply areas and fight it out. Those matches can be really fun. Other times you get those one or two killjoys who swim across the map or hide on the hill in the trees and eat for 10 minutes.
Hunger Royal was a poor experience for a lot of people. The map was far too big. If anything, I wish the map for Southsun Survival was smaller. I had fun in Southsun Survival but like all mini games, is has some flaws.
