Husks & Nightmare Court
Mordremoth could try to corrupt the NC, but they are still sylvari born from the pale tree and connected to the dream, even if it is the darkest part of the dream, aka mordremoth consciusness. Thus attacking the pale tree would give him control over both sylvari and nightmare courtiers.
At the moment all the characters are holding the idiot ball again, when they should be asking “how do the Nightmare Court relate to Scarlet and Mordremoth?”. I’m guessing it’s something that will come as a big reveal later in the story but will just leave the players wondering why nobody bothered to think about it sooner.
Also read this to get more hints about the link between Mordremoth and the sylvari.
My theory on the sylvari and Mordry
Also that if you played “Where life goes” with Sylvari, you’ll know what Nightmare Court could do…
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
I’m expecting the NC to get involved sometime. We know Scarlet brokered a deal with them so she could do her research in their territory but we never found out what it was the NC looked to gain from their brief allegiance.
Mordrem Husks and Nightmare Husks look very different. Akin to the difference of a person and just after the same person becomes a risen (skin turns gray and a bit rotten immediately).
Mordrem Husks are more likely corrupted Summoned Husks.

We actually did in an interview.
The Court’s benefit was solely “spreading Nightmare via the Tower of Nightmares”.
It was the most pathetic of explanations for all of Scarlet’s alliances.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

The nightmare court are still connected to the dream so as far as we know right now they’re protected like other Sylvari by the pale tree since they need to stay connected to the dream to spread nightmare to it.
It’s possible they could willing become corrupted while remaining connected to the dream and the pale tree but right now we don’t enough really.
We need husk minipet!
I doubt they’d willingly become dragon servants. According to lore, the Nightmare Court still views the Elder Dragons as their enemies – they merely disagree with how to go about it. I wish this was highlighted more in the storyline though.

And that says something, given how pathetic all the alliance explanations are (especially in the phase where they’ve already been routed and crushed at least once).
A fantasy of sci-fi cyborg implants grafted into the desiccated flesh of Guild Wars’ corpse.

I find it strongly unlikely, not this soon anyways. I think the NC would be operating parallel with Mord’s intentions without realizing it assuming he is behind the Nightmare. Although I am curious to see what the NC has been up to since Mord awoke and what their take on him is.

If you want my 5c, the husks are a bit like the undead, in that they can be created and used by many different entities. Just like not every undead is a minion of Zhaitan, not every husk is a minion of Mordremoth.
