I knew it all along (possible spoilers)
We do not know if the Ring of Fire Islands are yet connected to Primordus. Our reason for going there may not be directly linked to the Dragon. I am certainly not expecting to see him there and so soon either. The fact that Primordus fell to rest in the Central Transfer Chamber – a huge distance away – suggests the islands are not a natural abode, especially when the Dragon is capable of turning much of the Underground to such an environment.
There are also other volcanic region in Tyria.
So yes you might be right, or equally this might be connected differently. Right now, we have no better idea than we did before LS3 began.
Congradulations. That’s some smart deduction. But can you figure out who’s the father of Marjory’s baby?

Rytlock obviously

for in his heart he dreams himself your master.”

How is that possible? I thought he was “fixed”.

The mists rejuvenated him, reversing the neutering. The baby is going to be the half-human half-charr Scion of the Mists who will finally reunite Kryta and Ascalon, and forge an unending Furry partnership between the humans and the Charr.
It’s birth will convince Jennah and Smodur to finally profess their love for one another and the ceremony will be so beautiful that the Separatists will be convinced to lay down their arms and the Fire Legion will repent and be forgiven, only to be welcomed back into the fold.
The baby will be supercharged with Mists energy and grow up to adulthood in 24 hours and be a natural leader and strategist, taking over the Pact Marshal position, marrying an Asura for love and politics, and leading the united might of the races of Tyria (also the Grawl who now worship the baby as a god) against the remaining Elder Dragons, wiping them out once and for all.
The heroism shown by the baby will be enough to convince the human gods to show up again because we’ve earned their love once more, and Dhuum, Menzies, Balthazar, and Grenth will all kiss and make up with each other. And then we all live happily ever after.
Except the Skritt. The baby isn’t shiny enough to warrant their attention.

wipes tear from eye
What a glorious future!
I think the Ring of Fire Islands has much more to do with Lazarus than it does Primordus.
I am sure there is a connection somehow because the LS will lead us into the next expansion, but I don’t think he will be there.
As Randulf said, he could be located anywhere since he is underground.
It doesn’t even have to be a volcanic area. When Primordus emerges, wherever that is will be a volcanic area. It doesn’t have to start out that way.
Since it will likely be in an expansion when we DO see him, I am sure it will be on a map we don’t already have. So I would say your ROFI guess is not accurate.
Looking at the trailer, the islands are prime to erupt from all the excess magic. We have destroyers, elementals, Karka, Mursaat minions. Looks like the epicentre for something big.
Bigger than Rytlock and Marjory’s baby!
I don’t think the Ring of Fire is specifically linked to Primordius.
During GW1 he was under the Shiverpeaks, right next to the Central Transfer Chamber (roughly where Frostgorge Sound is today, in fact almost exactly where Seis Burnheart started her investigation).
As far as we know he stayed there until just after the Bloodstone exploded and Lazarus absorbed it’s power. Then he started moving south to the Ring of Fire.
My guess is Lazarus went there either because one of the two remaining known Bloodstones is there (and the other one is somewhere under Sparkfly Fen and probably not easy to get to) or because it’s the location of the last known Mursaat stronghold in Tyria and Primordius followed him.
Why would he do that? Simple, Mursaat are pretty powerful to begin with and having absorbed the Bloodstone’s power Lazarus is now probably one of the most powerful magical beings on Tyria. Which makes him a walking (flying) buffet for a dragon.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Yes the return to the Ring of Fire Islands being involved with Primordus is no surprise to me. I knew that since GW2 came out in fact.
I don’t think Primordius is there for some simple reasons:
1) He was put to rest somewhere in continent.
2) Island is more like a bunch of craters surrounded by the ocean…..How would a fire dragon lives under the ocean?
3) We have a bunch of Destroyer presence in Tyria too….they couldn’t traver underwolrd from the islands to Tyria
Suggestions:
I think Primordius is somewhere on the continent and I think he lies somewhere under a big city

Well, this one is obvious to answer. He wouldn’t be living under the ocean. He’d be living under the island. You do realize that an island goes all the way down to the bottom of the ocean? Where else does that lava come from? And considering it’s a volcano it will only grow wider the deeper you get. Not that I believe Primordus is actually there. There are other places in Tyria where lava emerges (Kessex Hills, Lornar’s Pass, Mount Maelstrom) and all of them are crawling with destroyers. That doesn’t mean Primordus is there as well. Mordremoth might have been the entire jungle, but Primordus is not all of Kryta.
