Is actually the puppet of a bigger foe that has been doing all of this from the shadows. Perhaps a dragon? And the whole alliances thing to finally come into play and make sense to why it had to be flame legion / dredge / krait / aetherblade / twisted minions and nightmare court (and how she managed to get them to work together).

It’s seriously the only way they could save this story.

Maybe it can be seen in a cutscene that said foe disposes of Scarlet once she’s no longer useful!

I’ve had the same thought. The speculation on the boards seems to run in one of two directions:

1. She’s just the agent of a much more powerful being, like a dragon.
2. She actually is a much more powerful being, like a dragon, in disguise.
3. Scarlet is Mary Sue in disguise.

In any case, I’m ready for the big reveal and final confrontation so we can move on.

This is my theory as well, and in my eyes the only way that it can explain her meteoric rise to power. It was given to her.

It explains her madness and her ability to grow red vines from her body.

It doesn’t explain anything else though: the alliances, her experimentation with the magical ley lines (dragons can soak up this power without extra help)

So if Scarlet is using these machines to draw in power she certainly isn’t doing it under the influence of a dragon. So that is one major hole in my theory.

Although people who have a very good understanding of GW1 lore have already said that McCoy is rewriting the lore to suit her own stories.
